Does anyone else have this problem every month besides me? I get so grouchy and irritable! Mood swings, crying, I just wanna bite someone's head off. Does anybody relate? It really is a bitch!

I know it's late but I'm sure there are some women out there dealing with this besides me. Gather around, pull up a chair and a beer and let loose. I have it 2 weeks before that time of the month and it drives me and everyone around literally insane. Any suggestions?

I used to get these awful headaches where I was bent over while holding my head and screaming bloody blue murder. The pain was INTENSE. Doctors said that water was increasing in my brain and pressing against nerves and stuff. It was freaking awful.
So I cut down the salt intake and it went away.
Sorry you get PMS every month Femme.....that sucks.

Sorry you get PMS every month Femme.....that sucks. Thanks Sug... I get it 2 weeks every months before that time and I cry uncontrollably sometimes. I get suer grouchy over nothing and they diagnosed me with PMDD...(Pre-menstrual Dysphoric Disorder) put me on some anti-depressants but they just made me more nervous. Pretty much nothing I can do to alleviate it, until it's over.

I'm pretty much the opposite of you (no physical pain/emotions/etc during period...practically no bleeding either). Turns out I'm extremely estrogen deficient. I've been on bio-identical estrogen/progesterone for about two months now and feel FABULOUS. Can't say enough good things about it! BTW I'm 38.
Have you had your hormones checked? Maybe you are out of whack and getting some supplements (ie progesterone helps balance out estrogen if you have too much) will help with the extremes you feel those two weeks. You definitely shouldn't just "live with it" though. Find a doctor who will help you fix the core problem and not just the symptoms.

Girl Wonder has the mood swings the week before. She'll pick fights with me for about 5 days. Maybe I'll check into the health food store.

Yes I had my hormones checked and they say I have a very high level of estrogen and a lower level of progesterone. They said that I had PMDD which occurs about 2 weeks before my cycle and causes severe depression and moodiness. I suppose I should go to the Doctor and ask them what kinds of vitamins or whatever would be good to take because this really interferes with my emotions, moods and overall mental state. It started about 4 years ago or so...and it's progressively getting worse. Thanks for the tips girls.

i don't get all bitch-tastic but i do experience lots of dull throbbing pain, feeling drained. queasiness, and moodiness. over the past few days it's been a sinking depressed feeling which makes me want to burst into tears. advil, coffee, and keeping my interaction with others to a minimum has been the course of action.

I hit ya with some karma too, skinny. I did once use progesterone cream...I had to run it on my skin also....But it was very expensive.

As long as you don't suffer from renal insufficiency, femme, you should be fine with a magnesium supplement. I hope it helps.

You're a nurse aren't you? I really do suffer badly with the mood swings 2 weeks before and I cry for nothing. It's unexplainable..I ache and get cramps all down my legs too...
