sautee 1 diced whole yellow onion (i suppose leeks would be fine also) celery tops 2 stalks of diced celery some carrots 2 smashed garlic cloves (i used eight...)
add lots of crshd red ppr, a bay leaf, some black pepper
add chix broth...simmer.....can add spinach if you like
very yum and full of yummy stuff to clear your sinuses out! imagine it would help a cough also...
i guess you could add egg noodles to it also if you feel like it

ugh for all of you. I usually carry a headcold most of the winter, but nothing like that. hope the soup works for you! if it doesn't, try out the Acadian fricot I posted in the chicken noodle soup thread. it always makes me feel better.

I woke up with a chest cold this morning and tonight we are having homemade turkey soup and cornbread for dinner. I made the soup a couple of days ago. I used celery, carrots, onion, and basil. I'm looking forward to it.
