I see an option to back up messages. Where are these backed up to?

Backup Personal Messages From this page you can download a backup of all of your personal messages. You may only use this feature once every 30 days for your account.
Here is the process for downloading a backup of your personal messages:
* Click the button at the bottom of this page labeled "Backup Personal Messages." * Your account will be added to a queue for processing. The average time for backups being completed is 2 minutes. * When your personal messages are done being backed up, you will receive a Personal Message in your inbox stating that your messages are ready for downloading. * You have up to one (1) week to download your backup before it is removed from the server.
Our records show that you have not backed up your Personal Messages within the last month, and therefore you may proceed.

I just did it. You download a zip file, just like you would download any file from the internet.

When I did the backup, it only backed up the messages in my inbox, not my outbox. Any way to back those up too?

I have been keeping all the PM's to me, my post back or to , No,no record of. I guess I could start clearing out some old ones. Is the holding on to these, thinking other posters doing the same, limiting the space available to the zonne to do other things? A negative in other words...

no.. i don't think it impacts anything.. but if you did have some you NEEDED to keep (in the case of admins), they get hard to find after a while.
