I made it to Victoria's Secret and to the bridal shower. The shower turned out to actually be fun.
Then I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up some basics, like bread and cheese. I got gas and came home.
I made dinner and now I'm relaxing, with a small glass of mudslide.
It was a full day. But the weather is beautiful.
I need to do laundry. It's building up.

Still haven't found a new washing machine. The guy at Home Depot made me so mad I walked out.

Still haven't found a new washing machine. The guy at Home Depot made me so mad I walked out. I've done that before, buying a washer/dryer set and buying a car. The car salesman was the worst! I hope you find a good washer soon!

Still haven't found a new washing machine. The guy at Home Depot made me so mad I walked out. If you like the prices at Home Depot maybe you can pick a time to go when that person is unlikely to be working, i.e. a different shift. Good luck in your washing machine quest. I'm hoping to do some linen laundry today.

Good Morning Kids! It was barely 10am this morning, and DH is already getting on my nerves. Speedy needs a new dog license, and DH is heading out the door, so I holler out, "you realize you need proof that he's had his rabies shot, right?" So of course he doesn't have a clue where that paperwork is, and I find it in two minutes, while grumbling that this is why women can never finish one project, because of interruptions by other family members. Seriously, that man had better have some hobbies when he retires, because his idea of "helping" just makes more work for me.

I have arranged to meet a particular employee (sales mgr), on a certain day/time before, to avoid dealing with a certain employee.
For awhile, I did my grocery shopping on certain days/times, to avoid the store manager. He was a jerk, IMO.
I didn't have any problem reporting him to his supervisor/upper mgmt.

Phew! We got DD's dress back from MY tailor, and he did a great job correcting the problems created by the earlier tailor. The dress fits her nicely now. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/heart.png) He & his family do great work, but with the number of expensive projects we've given him this year, I get the feeling we've probably paid close to one month's rent on his business.

busymom I'm glad that your DD was able to get her dress properly altered. I drove to the other city today, to the most interesting business, auto parts, appliances, and lawn and garden. They had appliances, lawn mowers, BBQ's and auto parts. The lady there was incredibly helpful and I will definitely go back for other needs. Her recommendation was to call another appliance shop in another close by city because they were the authorized repair shop for my brand of appliances. She said it shouldn't be failing at 8 yrs old in a one person household. The other repair shop will be out Thursday afternoon to check my machine. If they are unable to repair it I will be out $95 but they all seemed to talk like it was repairable. The shop with the nice lady had the same brand that I have now and if I were to buy that machine it would be over $1000. It seems worthwhile to me to spend $95 to see if it can be repaired.

I went down to my apt office today, took a seat on their couch and made it clear I wasn't in a hurry to leave and that I was very unhappy. I didn't care who heard me, since it was all true.
I asked what I can/need to do, in order to get my work orders complete? When she said, I understand, I said, No, I don't think you do! She said she lives in an apt and has had an uncompleted work order for a week. I said, you're comparing your week, to mine that's been since February?!
It never got any better for her. The whole thing was ridiculous. When she said they don't have the grab bar, needed for my shower (again), I offered to go buy one.
I kept saying I've done everything I know to do and have gotten nowhere. Big jobs, little jobs, nothing gets done. If I'm nice, or if I'm angry, it doesn't matter. Nothing gets done.
She tried to say, 2 of the work orders require approval. I already got approval. They're still not done.
I through out my heart/health issue, saying, just because it's pleasant outside, doesn't mean it is in my apt.
I didn't let them off easy.
I clearly wasn't happy. I will go back down tomorrow, for an update.
Oh, and I placed another work order. The key I have, doesn't unlock my storage closet.
They were happy when I left, I'm sure. I shouldn't have to be a 'B', for them to do basic maintenance/their jobs. I wouldn't be a 'B', if they did their jobs.
We'll see what happens. 🙄

I am sorry TMR, I hope things start moving in your favor. Can someone you know just install the grab bar for you? Took some days off and am less motivated today. Took the bus to drop off a payment. Got a couple things at the nearby grocery store but re-hurt my bad knee running for the bus home. The driver waved me off for paying. Did not have my cash in hand, was still in my wallet. Finally going to start tackling fleece laundry. And will email my church to see if anyone might need or want some of the supplies including the hay. I think it might be at least three different loads of laundry to wash everything. Some of it needs to go to those big textile bins. I think Moon Shadow took some significant damage during the earthquake. I now think he must have been in his wooden hide, and he could have been banged about repeatedly when it happened. Probably caused internal damage to his head and the cut on his foot. Poor baby. Part of this time off is to grieve him better and fix my sinuses. Need to neti pot and get them in better shape.

Thanks. Nope. Because I rent and it's a safety issue, they have to install it. According to them, they can't get one. That's why I offered to go buy one. I hope your day goes well.

That's sucks they haven't gotten that done for you yet. Off my game after lunch. Need to submit a request to the complex. The heavy-duty machine was flagged out of order in my preferred laundry room. Went to the one with multiple ones and they were all in use. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/faint.gif) So since my knee wasn't happy with me, I cut my losses. Hope to do the load tomorrow instead. Sinuses feel a bit better, started sneezing because of the pollen, which is a good thing, if annoying.

The manager came with the maintenance supervisor. Several little maintenance items were fixed. The manager herself, stained my bathroom cabinets, where it was chipped off.
They put freon in my a/c, but that didn't fix it. They brought me a portable a/c unit and put it in my bedroom.
The HVAC guy is supposed to come tomorrow.
They changed the battery in my smoke detector and put a new aerator on my kitchen faucet.
They are coming back Monday afternoon to work on the area where the water has leaked in. I have to move my furniture and rug, before they get here.
A few more things need to be done. But if these things get taken care of, as planned, it will make me happy (for now).
Thanks for your support!

Good Evening Kids! I did get my hair trimmed today, and I'm glad I don't normally spend this much on haircuts (the place that's styling my hair for DD's wedding trimmed it today). I don't know how much the average haircut is where you live (it's currently around $20 here), but this place charges $70. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yikes.png) That's a bit steep for me, but I'm really trying to make an effort to look good for family pictures.

Seems outrageous to me. My hair has been cut in a pixie, for years. I got it cut in a shag, in 7th grade and it's been short ever since. Now, it's all one length, just below my shoulders. It drives me crazy, being this long. But it's easier to care for, since I don't have to wash and curl/style it every day. But it's very straight. And always has been. I hope you like the way they cut and styled your hair!

I do like the way my hair turned out, and they DO spoil you when you're there. They have the most comfortable shampoo bowls I've ever seen. Padded, and like sitting in a recliner. Then, they also massage your scalp, not the usual quick shampoo. And yes, I did tip on top of the $70 price. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/wink.png) But she hardly needed to trim any of my hair at all (I was there within the last month). Just a quick trim. Like I said, I want to be as "picture ready" as I can be. And no, I am NOT the photogenic model that some women over 40 are. Just trying to NOT be haunted by these pictures in 20 years.

toomuchreality I'm glad that they finally have started fixing things at your apartment. It's about time. My haircut generally costs $40. I have short hair but it very wavy with some weird curls. I'm not very pleased with my hairdresser but she gives a good enough cut for my weird hair. Last time I was only charged $37 and I don't know why. Her Mom handles the money and appointments. Mom knows that I get my hair cut about every 6 weeks so when I pay she hands me a card with my next appointment on it. I'm not given a choice of time/day etc which is very odd. I just roll with it and if the appt doesn't work for me then I just change it later.

I have been cutting my own hair since 2020. No, it doesn't look great because I am not a professional. I don't go anywhere that I'm trying to impress people.
NIL from Toronto cut it last summer when they were here. If I go there in the fall or they come here in the summer, I will have her cut it again.

Good Morning Kids! I bought what I hope is my last bit of makeup for awhile. The good stuff is SO expensive now. (Remember in junior high when we could wear the cheap stuff?) The sun is out, and it's quite comfortable outside, but we've got thunderstorms arriving late this afternoon. I'm hoping DS is home from his job before the bad stuff shows up. I'm trying to wear my contacts again today, but they're being VERY trying.

Ack, looks like thunderstorms are creeping into the area a little earlier than weather.com said when I started my laundry. In the dryer now, but to be done just after it might start storming. Finding and filing medical paperwork too. Not fun but overdue. I cut my hair as well, although I wish I could afford a professional.

At 10AM it's 80°. We're supposed to reach 95° today! I'm glad they fixed my A/C yesterday!
I wish my legs weren't so bright white. I'd like to wear shorts today.

I will be dog sitting tonight, for DD1. They're going to a comedy club. My grand dog can't stand up on her own anymore, so she can't be left alone. Poor thing. I think it's time for euthanasia, but DD1 doesn't. Sad.

I called to refill a prescription and found out I've been taking it wrong. Dr told me to double my dose, so I've been taking 2 pills. Now I found out the strength was doubled, so I didn't need to take 2 pills. I'm glad it didn't kill me, since it's for my heart. But now I'm out of medication and my insurance won't cover a refill yet. Ugh. Now I'm waiting for my doctor to call me back and tell me what to do. Hopefully, I can pay out of pocket and it won't be outrageously expensive. -Sigh.

Weird... Right? These are such tiny pills, they often don't get swallowed the first time I try. And when I was in the hospital, a nurse accidentally threw one away. I hope the doctor's office calls back soon.
