I fell outside today, at DD2's. My left knee is killing me and has been all day. Although it's getting worse. As is the rest of my body. I've taken 4 Tylenol, but they haven't helped. My check battery light came on in my car and doesn't go off. Tomorrow is DGD1's 6th birthday. But I don't want to go to dinner with that many people, even I my car is running. I can't afford a car repair. I've been on the verge of tears, all day. I want to go to sleep and forget everything. I'm tired of adulting. Sorry for whining. Your battery might be low on charge. I had to drive at least 15 minutes or more to charge mine up. Rest your knee. I hope rest lessens the pain for you. Go to sleep and deal with things in the morning. I drove 45 minutes on my car battery (home), so it must be something else. I plan to take it to AutoZone, or someplace in the morning, to have it tested. I hope it just needs water, but I doubt it. DD1 offered to help me buy a new battery, for Mother's day. They're not cheap, IMO. She actually offered to buy me one, for Mother's day. But I know that's more than she can afford. It was nice of her to offer. She said, I can ride with them to dinner, tomorrow. My body is getting stiff, from my fall, this morning. I'm miserable. But the ice is helping some.

toomuchreality, I asked DH about the light on your dash, and he says get your battery checked first, and if it's not the battery, your alternator might need to be replaced. Don't want you getting stranded anywhere, especially with an achy body.

If you are unwilling to let her fully pay for a battery replacement if needed, maybe you would be OK with her paying half? I hope you feel better by dinner whether you decide to attend or not.

Sharon that is a spread worthy of EE! Sugar high for everyone! And thanks to all of you! toomuchreality get that knee checked. Take it from someone in week 8 of 12 weeks of knee rehab. Do not mess with this. My usual busy morning, minus the cloud of doom. Swam this morning. went to Walmart hoping to find a tea strainer. Found one of those universal Keurig filters for $2. Works like a charm! Got home, finished vacuuming and cleaned the bathrooms. Started the dishwasher while DH and I went out to pick up coffee beans, and stopped at our little village farmers market. Very cute and had a surprising array of goods. I got some mushrooms for spaghetti sauce for tonight. Cleaned another kitchen shelf (the spice collection) - oh, yikes, I think some of those spices were moving in those jars.

Oh, no -- the McCormick's were still good. In fact, Publix had a BOGO on them recently and I got some. Really good for flavoring the enormous amount of chicken and turkey we eat. When I say old spices, I do mean old. Like pre-pandemic.

Don't want you getting stranded anywhere, especially with an achy body. Thanks! This is my plan. I've had both batteries and alternators go bad on me, in the past. I don't want it to happen again. It's times like these, I wish I had a credit card, so I could just go get it fixed and not have to worry/think about it. But in reality, I'm glad I don't have any debt to think, or worry about. I have a portable battery charger/jumper. I hope it's charged and works, if I need it. Really, I hope I don't need it. At times like these, I wish I wasn't alone. It's nice to have someone to talk to and bounce ideas off of.

Back in 1976 when DH1 and I bought our first house, I found a hidden storage space for spices, over my stove. The spices I found up there were REALLY old! Some in glass jars. Now I wish I would have saved those little jars.

Good Afternoon Kids! DD will be stopping by in a bit, then we'll go together to the bakery & pay off her dessert tray for her wedding. Her friends haven't been doing the traditional wedding cake, and neither is she. There are so many nice options now.

Her friends haven't been doing the traditional wedding cake, and neither is she. There are so many nice options now. DD2 went over to her Sister in Law's last night, with her MIL. They all tried on their dresses, for SisIL's wedding next month. (DD2 is Maid of Honor.) DD2 said hers was tighter than when she bought it. But that the bride was freaking out about how tight her dress has become. I'm glad I'm not part of that whole deal again. Good luck with your "party planning"!

Now I wish I would have saved those little jars. I have two pull-out metal pans for my spices; I got them at a restaurant wholesale supplier. I believe they are actually used as large fish steamers (they have holes in the bottom and handles on each end) and the handles was why I bought them. I did clean them up, added a new layer of paper towels and now they look very tidy. I sorted by baking and cooking/savory spices and seasonings, with my salt jars in a row on the outside.

We have a wooden spice rack on the wall that I bought in 1973. The spices are in alphabetical order. Then we have a metal rack on the pantry door full of spices. Also some spices on a shelf. You'd think we cooked a lot with spices, but we don't. My wife retired from McCormick. Some spices were from gift bags given out at the annual board meeting. Some were from the test kitchen which gave away spices after they were used in testing new recipes. Hey anyone need a 5 gallon jug of chili powder, garlic powder or Old Bay ( the famous seaford spice)? Since retiring we have had to buy spices we use and run out of.

I went thru spices last week. Some were in cabinet so long I think they starting mating. Made for some interesting flavors. We must be shadowing each other as I took advantage of the BOGO at Publix. Hit Fresh Market for a few also.

I'm at the auto shop. I didn't expect my car to start today, but it did, no problem. I wish I knew what that means, or what I should expect.
My Ex1 knew all that stuff. But that was nearly 40 years ago. And it's not like I'll call and ask.

My battery tested as bad, needing replacement. But he said it's weird that it hasn't been dying on me. A new battery installed is $265. Since I just bought the battery that's in it, 2 yrs ago, I might wait until it starts dying, to replace it.
I'm charging my portable jumper box now, just in case.
I really don't want to have to worry about it, every time I drive my car.
I'm glad I got this warning.
(I also have jumper cables)

Best wishes at the auto shop, toomuchreality. I hope the problem, whatever it is, is inexpensive. I plan to try on my dress again this week, and again in another 2 weeks, because I DON'T like surprises. If it's getting tight, then I'll know I need to cut back before the wedding, but I do worry about unexpected hot weather making me swell up.

Is your battery under warranty toomuchreality? That's a free replacement where I go to get my car serviced.

The battery they offered me today has an 8 yr warranty. But I'm sure my old one doesn't. Not for that long. I'm glad I save my receipts for car repairs. I need some lunch. I'm hungry.

DD and family came over today, the kids wanted to show me their creations from the Home Depot kids project Saturday. They ended up staying for lunch, then DD and I and the littles went to look at tile etc while DSIL and the bigs went to get new tires for Mom's car.

They ended up staying for lunch, then DD and I and the littles went to look at tile etc while DSIL and the bigs went to get new tires for Mom's car. Sounds like a nice day! I ended up going to the birthday dinner for my granddaughter. Because I rode with DD1 and her wife, I sat near them and actually had a good time. As we left DGD told her mom, her favorite gift was the one I gave her! YAY! We gave DD2 crap, saying she's going to have to up her game, when it comes to cooking. So DGD can help her and use the Mini Chef Set I gave her. I also mentioned to her dad, that maybe DGD can help him when he makes his giant fruit bowl, once a week, with the chopped fruit he buys at the store. That sounds manageable/easy to me. And not too difficult for a 6 year old. The first 12pc set I bought for $28, was cute. But the 2nd 21 pc set, for $14.99 was so much better. I think she feels more grown up, with my gift. Which makes me happy. I don't usually get lucky like that. Yay, me! Oh. And someone bought my dinner!

One more thing. My son in law knows people that work at the repair shop, where I bought my last car battery, 2 yrs ago. So he said he will call them on Monday and find out about the warranty. YAY!
I am in a much better mental state tonight, then I have been in awhile. I'm not overwhelmed with anxiety about everything.
It feels good.
Thanks for your support! ♡

Well, it's 2:30AM and I'm awake, icing my knee and leg. I got a lot of deep bruising, for about 4 inches below my knee, when I fell. I kept trying to brush off the pain, but then decided if ice will help, why not?
The relief is pretty much instant And I can ice my knee at the same time.
Time for more Tylenol. I think Advil would help more, because it reduces swelling. But my fear of bleeding stops me.
I hope you all are sleeping well.

Today is wet and wild. So far we have gotten the most rain I have ever seen since I moved here over 2 years ago and we are under a high wind warning. My lawn desperately needs the rain since the irrigation system isn't working. Today is a good day to stay inside all day.

Rain here and I did not start laundry this morning when I planned to. Forgot I have shirts I like to hang dry so I need to wash my hair first. And finish loading the dishwasher and running it. The excitement is strong today.
