Thanks! Me too. I will be SO angry if this 2nd check doesn't clear! Can you ask your bank if the funds are in there before they try to run it through? Had a former neighbor who gave me a bad check many years ago, and when they gave me a second check, I was able to have my bank make sure the funds were available before they processed it.

Well, Speedy played "doggie terrorist" while at the vet. I don't know how he did it, but he managed to partially slip off his harness. Fortunately, I'd left his collar on, so I grabbed his collar, and it took both the vet and me to get the harness back on him. I know Lola is an escape artist (she's figured out how to open the latch on her kennel), but I didn't realize she'd taught Speedy a few tricks.

Had a former neighbor who gave me a bad check many years ago, and when they gave me a second check, I was able to have my bank make sure the funds were available before they processed it. Because the check was drawn on the same bank where my acct is, I thought I would be able to do this. However, when I asked, I was told No, they couldn't check to see if the funds were available. But considering how large this management company is, I had a hard time believing the check didn't clear the first time. My hope is that since it's shortly after the first of the month now, there are enough funds to cover the check. After making the deposit, the teller told me, the funds would be available immediately. But I think that has more to do with the status of my account, than anything else. I think the management company would be very embarrassed if comments are posted in a review stating their check bounced. It only took about half an hour yesterday to get a reply saying the error had been corrected. And they did overnight the new check. Hopefully, those are good indicators. They are a large business. This should never have happened. I shouldn't have to go out of my way to accommodate their error. But it's all done now, I hope.

Even the vet was surprised how strong he is, when both of us were trying to pin him down to get that harness back on. Never underestimate a dog who doesn't want to do something.

Thankfully Benjamin has been the only cat I have ever had who required a warning. He did mellow with age.

Hello peeps! Checking on folks after the big quake and making sure all are well. My baby brother was at a concrete and steel bunker Navy facility in DC when it happened and even it shook. I have a swim meet this weekend. No block diving allowed but all else should be good. Taking my PT tools with me to use throughout the day.

Good Morning Kids! House looks like a tornado hit, so I need to put in some serious time getting organized. Especially paperwork. The mail truck threw up into our mailbox this week.

DAY 1 of the meet done. Feel pretty good, but tired. Knee seems to be holding up.
Got fish for dinner and will finish the mac and cheese and some fresh corn, too.

I did PT. Hate myself right now, but I know I have to do it. There will be a small scoop of ice cream later as a reward.

Maybe the more rigid the structure the more it is affected? The building I was in is brick or at least brick faced. Horrible sound when the original one happened.

I had hoped to do some yard work today, but it is too windy. The winds are about 25mph with regular gusts between 35-40mph. Instead I have a nice big pot of spaghetti sauce that has been simmering all afternoon.

I feel somewhat relieved to find that one of the hospitals billed my account to Medicaid (which I don't have), not to my insurance. So I'll call and get that corrected Monday. One of my ambulance bills may also not have been billed to my insurance. I'll also check that out. This could relieve a LOT of pressure I'm feeling to pay these huge bills. I sure hope so!

We have beautiful blue sky today and no wind. DSIL wants to watch the women's basketball game today so they will be here at noon. DD said she would bring some lasagna soup. Not exactly sure what all that entails but she is a good cook and I don't have to fix it so I'm happy. I will probably still work in the yard as I'm sure the kids will want to play outside.

Thanks for brunch, Nancy!
Cold, rainy and windy here. Means they can't start on the yard tomorrow. The lake is back.
I'm happy to hear that your son in law wants to watch the Iowa-South Carolina game. It's so exciting that people who haven't watched our sport before watching and finding out that it's very good and very competitve.

DSIL is a big basketball fan and he is the one who made sure DGD1 was signed up for basketball this past winter. They have very limited TV selections where they live so I get requests from time to time that he wants to watch such and such game and is it okay if they come over.
