Hiya ՏՇԾԵԵʅՏɧ_LԹՏՏʅҼ! Glad you checked in. Hope you're mostly staying out of mischief. Good Morning Kids! I didn't sleep well last night, with our early morning thunderstorms, but the rain is SO welcome here, that it was a pleasant sound to me. No watering for me today.

Sharon Our humane society charges a fee if you take in a pet for rehoming but not if it's a lost and found type cat. Those are accepted without a fee and without an appointment. A woman was bringing in a very pregnant cat she had found when I was adopting Maddow and Amelia. She was in and out while I was doing the paperwork for the adoption.

Good Morning Kids! Insurance definitely doesn't cover what it used to. Just found out how much my next dental crown & filling are going to cost me, out of pocket. I'm beginning to understand why retirees have false teeth, as trying to keep your real teeth gets VERY expensive.

Just a quick check in. Surgeon was happy. Do not have to wear sling. Can drive. (Not supposed to go on a long road trip but Yeah I can get myself to and from work) Took a short ride today and plan on driving myself to work tomorrow.

Peeps, peeps, peeps... good to be with you on Friday night. What a week. I love technology at work, but some of the losers using it...not so much. I made a mushroom and black olive pizza for dinner...sorta healthy, right?

Thanks for serving brunch, NancysSummerSip. I'd eat more, but I'm trying to keep the weight off that I've already lost. We got a lot of rain here yesterday, and the grass that hasn't died looks like it's already beginning to recover from our drought. I haven't slept well all week, so I took a nap this afternoon, and I DO feel better.

Had a good weekend at DD's but that drive is a killer. I was supposed to meet with a real estate agent but that all fell through for reasons I'm not sure about. I will probably be moving over there if I can find a suitable place. That seems to be easier said than done.

Sharon Move there? Are you going to retire soon? That would be a heckuva commute, no?

Our department was kicked out of the office several months ago and told we were permanent remote employees, whether we liked it or not. I'm allowed to live anywhere in the state as long as I have good internet.

Good Afternoon Kids! I'm taking Speedy in to get his nails trimmed this afternoon. I've never owned a dog that grows his nails so quickly, and sadly they're almost as sharp as a cat's claws. Unfortunately for me, when he runs to greet me, it's with nails out as he lunges for my legs.

Ok, so THAT was interesting. Speedy allowed the groomer to trim his back nails, but kicked up a fuss about having his front feet touched. With me, it's the exact opposite. I can touch his front paws, but he doesn't seem to like me playing with his back feet. Dogs! Gotta love 'em.

Animals. Amelia won't let me touch any of her paws.
Maddow starts fighting on nail number 2 of a paw on the front. So it was a two day process but I got his front claws clipped.

Good Afternoon Kids! One of our garage door openers had stopped working, so I was waiting for the repairman today. Got it working again, and a list of suggested future repairs. We try not to buy what we don't immediately need (we prefer to only fix what we have the cash on hand to deal with), so we'll wait on anything else for now. We've already spent too much lately, so we're trying to slow down. Temps are mild here, and the sun is peeking out of the clouds. I need to go drop a few things off with DD, then run a quick errand or two...

Good Evening Kids! DD got herself a new furnace installed, and it seems to be working nicely. Just in time, as the trend for temps here is gradually falling. If the cool snap had begun sooner, she might have been spending a few nights here.

Is it cool enough for heat up there? I am happy to hear your DD has a working furnace.

Is it cool enough for heat up there? I am happy to hear your DD has a working furnace. It's getting there. It's almost the time of year where you run your furnace overnight, and the A/C during the day. The joys of living in a state with 4 seasons... We got more rain last night, and it's still "drippy" this morning, so the air is cool and once again has that "Fall feeling" to it.

Our temps definitely feel like fall but we so desperately need rain. Everything is so dry. The squirrels have been really busy storing nuts so I think that fall will come early this year. Hopefully we get some much needed rain and then snow in the mountains for winter.

We got hard rain just as I was waking up.
I did grocery pick up and it rained lightly the entire time.
I don't go many places and this was the first time I had needed the rear window wipers. I couldn't figure it out while I was driving, so I sat in the parking lot reading the owner's manual. Now they work.

Hello my peeps. It has been a week and a half, I tell ya.
My dear aunt, after almost two years of dementia and failing overall health, went to hospice Monday. And peacefully left this world Thursday. A two-time brain cancer survivor, she leaves behind a devastated but loving husband of 55 years, a successful son (doctor) and daughter (nurse) and five insanely fabulous grandchildren, who have all attained college educations and made something of themselves. The service is in Denver, but we are attending via Zoom. Thank goodness for technology.
