Happy Friday Muffins!!!
Two more days in the mid 80s and then finally a cool down on Sunday to season temps. We were suppose to get some much needed rain too but the storm is moving more North probably nothing. We haven't had any moisture in over a month.
I hope you are all safe and healthy!
Have a Fabulous Weekend!!

Good Afternoon Kids! We're enjoying what they call a "Top 10" weather day. The high here will be in the low 80's. It's sunny, and my only complaint is the strong wind gusts, which are messing with my Fall allergies.

busymom Just got off the phone with Bro. He said it's 67 and sunny there. What's he gonna do on this balmy fall afternoon? Why, tune up his sNOwblower, of course! Says it needs to be ready to roll when that first big sNOw happens. Enjoy this...you know the days like today will be fewer and fewer before it's winter. I do envy you the fall "feeling," though. Without the wind

Today is nice but a very rainy weekend is forecast. They say we will be hit by an atmospheric river. In other words lots of rain and wind. I am going to make a big pot of Hamburger Soup for the weekend. That is good for a rainy fall day.

It's a gorgeous 82 degrees this afternoon, but it's so windy. I opened one of the new windows and the wind about took it off, so I closed it. Crank style windows.

We seriously need some rain here. Not the hurricane kind, but just a nice, steady rain. I can't remember if I mentioned it here, but when I was digging to plant my tulip bulbs, just a few inches down the ground is bone-dry. Like pure powder, which is actually a bit scary...
That's a good idea to open up some windows. We probably won't be able to do that fairly soon.

I had originally planned on making my soup on Saturday but I guess I'm making it tonight. DD and the kids are coming for dinner. The original plan is that they were going to come up on Saturday and bring me some pumpkins from their garden. I guess with all the rain and wind expected for tomorrow they decided to come tonight. That's okay that means tomorrow can be a total relaxing day. This week as put me through the wringer and drug me down the street.

Hope you feel better A little bit of toddler silliness goes a long way with easing stress. It was a very enjoyable evening. DD and I got to visit and I played some with the kids. My house is now "beautifully" decorated with mini pumpkins as only two toddlers could. I also now have 3 larger pumpkins on the front porch. I will be sharing my pumpkin wealth with my Mom. DD said she still had 8 of the larger pumpkins at home and that they got a milk crate and a 5 gallon bucket full of the mini pumpkins. Instead of doing trick or treat this year DD said they will carve some pumpkins and paint some of the mini's.

Gracious hello peeps! Miss you guys all week! Got my stuff done and will be hanging around today; hope you don't mind being stuck with me. Stopped at Wally World on the way home from swim practice and then picked up caster sugar at my local gourmet shop, since DH loved the cookies I made and wants more. Dinner tonight is ham steak, roasted potatoes and asparagus.

Could I just have the potatoes and asparagus please? Sure...I planned on extra potatoes; I was going to experiment and make chunky potato cakes for dinner Monday. I've done these cakes with leftover mashed potatoes, but never with chopped Yukon Golds. Not sure if it will work.

It's very dry here, too. Makes it easy for the farmers to get their derecho damaged crops out of the ground, but the soil needs moisture to help it get ready for spring.

It was such a damp, dreary morning I made M and M cookies. That took some out of the chill of the house.

We just came in from working in the yard, since we heard thunder. I am running laundry and took out butter to soften to make cookies (chocolate chip cherry for me, and butterscotch white chocolate for DH). I also just made a pot of fresh iced tea.

Good Afternoon Kids! It is definitely cooler here than it was yesterday, but the sun is out, and it is pleasant. Still, you can feel that Fall chill in the air, so we know it's coming...

Oh, and I also am the recipient of a private donation from the Warren Foundation of $500,000 Euro. Some lady just decided I was worthy of getting the money. Sheesh, it's raining money, I tell ya.

I am soooo homesick! It always happens with the change of seasons I understand, Miss R. When we were in Florida, the change of seasons was much less dramatic. I really missed Fall & especially Spring. Just not the same... On the positive sign, you'll probably be gloating when Winter arrives. Especially when I have to begin shoveling snow again.

I am changing the sheets and washing towels today. Also baking the cookies from the dough I made yesterday.
Dinner is lobster and mushrooms over pasta.

Good Morning Kids! Sunny & cool here this morning. The leaves are picking up the pace on falling, so we have to think about either beginning to rake, or letting the mower grind up the leaves, & put them in the garden to help the soil. Decisions!
