Morning all. Everyday this week I have been running behind schedule so no time to check in.
Very glad January is over.
Cannot complain about the weather. Temperatures hovering above normal. Precipitation lower than normal.
Have a Fabulous Friday.

Mom will be moving to a care facility some time today. They want her to have a couple more therapy sessions first. Her main hang up right now is she can't get herself out of bed. Once they get her upright she can walk just fine, doesn't have an issue maneuvering with the walker etc. She can't move her leg left to right while laying in bed so she can't swing her legs over the edge of the bed. The nurse has to physically move the leg. They don't seem concerned about it at all. It seems to be part of the process.

Good Morning Kids! We made it to Friday. It's cloudy here, and we're expecting more rain later today (we got some overnight).

Mom is at the care facility and last night she was not a happy camper and was letting us know in no uncertain terms what she thought of every thing there.

Hang in there Sharon one of the hardest thing I ever did was leave my mom at a rehab facility. It was also the absolute right move.

Hello my soggy Saturday peeps. I think Busymom's rain made it down here. Just gray and chilly and rainy all day. Tomorrow should be colder but nice; I have a race in the morning. Doing laundry and freelance at the moment, besides talking to y'all. Dinner is my usual prerace salad and protein. DH is having fried fish and mac and cheese.

Good Afternoon Kids! Another cloudy day here. I heard overnight they actually had a tornado warning down in the Everglades. I slept in this morning with the cooler weather. But, DS is full of energy. I need to get him out & moving, so we'll go run some errands...

I need to get him out & moving, so we'll go run some errands... Down to the south is where the worst of the weather was. The warning was issued because of the large crowds here for the Super Bowl. Nobody living in the Everglades proper (well, actually...there is a large Indian Reservation in there. I did a 10K on the reservation. Longest, darkest, scariest ride to a race EVER!)

Sheesh NancysSummerSip! I thought only us native Midwesterners learned how to dodge tornadoes on the road. So glad you're o.k. That's more than a little scary.

Bless my DD. She knows how tired and stressed I've been so she made me a pan of Ziti so I will have something to eat off this week. On the old MSN boards there was a poster Jack (on Smart Spending) who posted his recipe for baked Ziti. It appears in our family rotation of meals from time to time. It will be a welcome change from all the fast food and grilled cheese sandwiches that I have been living on. Last night I did make some paprika chicken so I also have a couple servings of that left.

It's a good day to junk out. My race was cold -- I kept the long-sleeved shirt on for this one. Over 900 runners for this one, so no podium. In fact, my age group had 40 women in it, the largest one ever for me -- I am used to maybe 10 or 12 in there, so this was huge. I finished halfway down the age group order, so no complaints, really.

DD and I went and saw Mom today. DD not only brought me the pan of baked ziti she brought me some homemade marion berry cobbler. I will buy the occasional lottery ticket, usually a scratch off type. According to YNAB I spent $33 last year on lottery tickets so it is definitely a very occasional type thing. I got one yesterday and decided to scratch it this morning and won $75. I added it to my vacation fund.

Good Morning Kids! Insomnia has struck again. I went to bed around 12:30, & woke up before 5:30, but stayed in bed until 6:30. This is getting old in a hurry.

Whew! What a day! My dentist had a last-minute cancellation, & called to see if I wanted to come in today to start my crown. I went in, as I hate waiting when I've got a procedure to "look forward" to.

Today was Mom's actual birthday. My brother sprung for pizza and Sis-in-law made cupcakes. The care facility let us use a smaller dining room and we had a little party. I came home with another pile of laundry. Mom is making way more work for us then needs to be. I called this morning to see how she was doing and to wish her a happy birthday. She tells me that her glasses broke and would I please bring the extra pair that is on the kitchen counter. Ok, no problem. Then the therapist wants her to have her dressing aids at the care center so they can use them. She doesn't know my cell number off the top of her head and doesn't know how to look it up in her cell phone. She tells my Brother, when he calls to wish her Happy Birthday, that she needs the dressing aids and where to find them. It would have been nice if she had also had him pick up the glasses and have him call me and tell me all this. In the mean time my brother also picks up the mail. Instead I come in from work, go the opposite direction of the care home to pick up the glasses. I also get the key, walk up the block to the mailbox for the mail that has already been picked up. If she had just had my brother pick up the glasses along with the other stuff she could have saved me a half hour of driving. But no, each person has their assigned jobs. Bro's oldest grandson was there tonight and that kid is downright scary smart. He is not quite 3 1/2 years old and he was telling me what street he lived on and what the other streets where that you took to get to his house. Then he was telling me his Mommy and Daddies full names and what town Papa and Mimi lived in and what there street name is. Later I heard him signing a song with the names of the months.

Sharon. Work is becoming increasingly frustrating. I think I know what I need to do, however I detest looking for a new job.

Good Afternoon Kids! Couldn't check in this morning, as DS had a doctor appointment. All is well. ners, go ahead & update your resume. Sharon, I'm sorry about the "mom" drama. One of my high school friends had a mom who was a serious "queen bee". Who ended up in either a nursing home, or an assisted-living complex with a bunch of other queen bees. Talk about drama!

I had one of the drama queens as a rep payee client. Since she didn't officially qualify for the program where I volunteered, she had to have her stuff taken care of by a volunteer.
She didn't understand this was not a friendship. She called with her drama when I was on vacation. She called at least once a week crying.
The last straw was when I told her my mom was in hospice care. Her response was that would mean I would have less time for her.
I resigned from being her rep payee the same day. She wasn't a relative and I could not handle what was happening in my own life and her drama.

I found out the rest of the story regarding Mom's things. Apparently Mom told Bro to call me but he decided to not call and "help me out" but just getting the things himself. Mom still could have mentioned the glasses but it looks like the communication break down was bro not calling me. Mom did get in a little bit of trouble this morning. She has been complaining about the "rubber floor mats" that they call eggs and serve for breakfast, so she decided to eat the piece of cobbler that DD had brought her instead. She said cobbler and a cup of coffee was a good breakfast. They thought she hadn't eaten anything but her coffee. Then they suggested that maybe next time she save her treats for an afternoon or evening snack.

Good Morning Kids! We made it to Wednesday. TheOtherMe , sorry to hear about your former payee client. She sounds like a real piece of work... She was. I once called her to see if I could stop by the next day to visit. She told me that she hurt in 28 places in her body and proceeded to tell me each place. She told me the same 28 places the next morning. She once called when I was in Colorado at a basketball game in the evening. I did not hear the phone or see the message until about midnight. It wasn't urgent so I didn't call her back until I came back home. She chewed me out big time for not getting right back to her.
