Good Morning Kids! Is it really Monday already? DD's neighborhood did end up getting some major snow this holiday weekend. Her snow blower was being stubborn, but a neighbor helped her get it started, so she was able to clear the driveway. Winter has hit early & hit hard. In many parts of the country.

This mornings commute was a b**ch. I knew I was in trouble when I saw the current forecast, 28 degrees and misting. Fortunately everyone slowed down and was going about 40-45 mph. After I turned off the 4 lane hwy onto the 2 lane hwy everyone just stayed in line, no one tried to pass or do anything stupid. They had put deicer down but it was still slick. ETA: I love my grandkids to pieces but they are little germ factories. They felt the need to share their colds with me on Thanksgiving. My nose has ran all day and now I am coughing tonight.

Looks like I need to get moving and get out the door a little early this morning. Today is a dense fog advisory with freezing fog. At least the roads dried out some yesterday afternoon so it should just be the moisture from the fog and not left over moisture from rain.

Good Morning Kids! There was actually a frost advisory/warning just west of us. Sometimes there's some small advantages to living closer to the ocean. Like, slightly warmer temps...

Good morning everyone. Temps are still below normal. 37* now. It's the wind that gets to me. I haven't been taking my daily walks and have started slowly gaining back some of the weight I lost since hospital stay and CHF. But this might be the new me and it's good. Like to put on some muscle after losing 60# of, I guess, mostly fluid.

Mornin Muffins! Another chilly day. At least most of the snow skipped us. Ken, do what I did - buy a treadmill and use that. I did good for about a month, and now it is a dust collector.

Made it to work today and didn't get lost in the fog, too much. It was another day of not being able to see both white lines on the two lane hwy. There was one point where I thought I was closer to work than I really was but then caught a glimpse of a state park sign along the road and realized where I was. It is rather disorienting to not be able to see landmarks, or anything beyond the shoulder. It looks like we will have one more foggy day then things will blow out and we will be back to rain.

Hello peeps. Strange for me to be here on a Wednesday but I am off for the rest of the week for the Senior Games. Got my housework done and plan to get some errands run and the car packed up for the first competitive round on Friday. Hoping to see friends for breakfast after the third round Sunday, but it will depend on when things wrap up.

Good Evening Kids! I forgot to check in this morning. I spent a good chunk of time on the job hunt. Unfortunately, nothing positive to report, at least not right now.

Hiya peeps! Running a load of laundry, but other than that everything is done around the house. I have errands to do later (bank, pet food and my two usual Saturday salon appointment are this afternoon instead), then pack up the car. Lunch and dinner both on the lighter side for me for the next few days. I am taking advantage of the time today to do some freelance. ners thanks, I need all I can get. Never did the cycling portion of the state games before so this will be a new thing for me.

Good Morning Kids! It's cool & sunny, which makes for good sleep, but I was up early, & attempting to job hunt. DD was right, that with the way companies make you do the application process, it's much harder to find something. Even if you stop in anywhere & attempt to talk to people, they won't do a thing until you apply online, and then it's crickets. I'm going to sound like an old fogey, but I'll say it anyway. It was MUCH easier to find a job when I was in my 20's, because you could at least go in and make a good first impression. Now, they just look at your experience online, without looking at the person attached to that experience, and make a judgement without even bothering to meet you. A lot of folks, even in my neighborhood, have started companies out of their homes in this community, and I'm beginning to understand why.

Hello peeps. I am back and I won't say much about Games Day 1, other than it was a disaster. I am fine, but the organizers ought to be facing some serious music at some point for massive screw ups. -- I posted on the Anonymous Board about it Day 2 is tomorrow (swimming) and that has to be better than today.

Good Morning Kids! Best wishes on today's competition, NancysSummerSip! And, thanks for serving breakfast. As funny as it sounds, we're running out of room in our freezer, due to some holiday baking both DH & I have been doing. We need to make more room. So, today I'm baking up a frozen pie to free up some space.

I am back, peeps. Car is unpack and repacked for the final day (20K/40K cycling) and believe me, I am soooooooooo happy I took Monday off! I will need it! I have my annual physical with fasting bloodwork at 8:45, then a stop at the bank, then grocery shopping, and the vet for kitty's annual physical in the afternoon. At some point, I need to strip the beds and wash sheets. ETA: two gold medals today for the 100 fly and 400 IM, so some redemption after yesterday.

I just purchased tickets to take DD's family to the zoo lights. They decorate the zoo up with thousands of lights, we went once when DD was about 5 or 6 and it is fun. I also sprung the extra to take the train ride thru the zoo, hope it isn't too scary. I told DD I would pay if someone else drove. I'm sure DSIL is thrilled to be volunteered to drive in Portland traffic at 5pm on a Friday evening, NOT.
