I've had to start reading all the ingredients on everything I eat and have notices some amazing things... Here are my favorite two so far! 1 - Oreo's have NO dairy products in them... 2- A jar of honey roasted peanuts states boldly at the bottom of the ingredients "contains: peanuts" ya think?

1 - Oreo's have NO dairy products in them... That's okay; all the milk you drink with them makes up for it.

LOL...dancn! That is true!
It really is stunning how many unpronounceable things are in the stuff we eat. One of the big motivators to eat as much fresh food as possible. I really do believe a lot of the artificial stuff in processed food is a contributor to how much cancer and other illnesses there are out there. I don't have anything to back that up, I just think it is very plausible.

We had decided in the past that a White Russian counts as a serving of dairy. Go for it.

I found myself pausing on a Food Network show last night, "Unwrapped" maybe? they were showcasing frozen, mass-produced appetizers like egg rolls, kosher pigs-in-blankets, etc. I had to change the channel, I was pretty horrified watching workers literally shoveling the fillings of the egg rolls into this machine that would drop the servings onto the wrappers. my point though, was that the additives they actually talked about were astounding! besides the salt, the chemical versions of salts, and everything else....ugh.

DebMD - you just reminded me of a story my sis told me about a bag of Cheetos her BF found in his room while doing spring cleaning a few years back. it was an open bag, but rolled over sort-of sealed. he opened it, sniffed, took a closer look at one Cheeto, and ate it. declaring it OK, he offered her the bag. she declined, and they continued cleaning. a few minutes later, he stops and says "I don't think I've eaten Cheetos in here since that football game we watched at home last fall...." ew.

yep.
I had some spinach that was left at room temp for a week in a plastic bag. Not a welted or mushy leaf but I bet alot of preservatives.
I threw it out because it seemed too freaky. It happened because my fridge broke and in cleaning out the fridge this spinach was over looked.

When your frozen waffles contain "cellulose", that's means "cardboard".
Really!
