First of all, you create an account on photobucket or imageshack. Upload your pics to your account, paying special attention to your privacy settings.
If you just want to post a pic here, look for a box under the pic you want to post that says 'direct link', and copy that url. paste the url in between the [img] [/img] code, just like you do for a pic off the web.
to use one for an avatar, you want to resize it to no larger than 100x100. in photobucket, it's very easy to edit things- you can crop, resize, add text or other effects etc.. after you've done that and saved your changes, again get the url from the direct link box and then paste that (no [img] [/img] code) in your avatar url field.. even though you've made the size 100x100 in photobucket, you still have to make it that size here as it defaults to like 65x65.

I have a few photos in my Windows live photo gallery and also my photo library. So, how would i use one for an avatar since there is no url (whatever that is)? Are you doing pics of yourself, Snerds? |

I have a few photos in my Windows live photo gallery and also my photo library. So, how would i use one for an avatar since there is no url (whatever that is)? you can't, without uploading to photobucket or imageshack like i mentioned before.. or, find a pic on the web to use instead of one on your pc. the avatar HAS to have a url, which is the web address for either a site (like ours) or that goes with a picture.. picture urls will typically end in .jpg/.jpeg .bmp .gif .png therefore, it should look something like this: www.kolobok.us/smiles/artists/fool/bee. gif |
