WikiLeaks chief Julian Assange revealed that he has damaging "insurance files" on Rupert Murdoch and his News Corp media empire that he will release if something happens to him or to WikiLeaks. Assange made the revelation in a conversation with journalist John Pilger that appeared on the website of the New Statesman magazine on Wednesday. "If something happens to me or to WikiLeaks, 'insurance' files will be released," Assange told Pilger. He said that the contents of the files "speak more of the same truth to power...there are 504 US embassy cables on one broadcasting organisation and there are cables on Murdoch and News Corp." Assange also said that any attempts by the U.S. government to prosecute him should worry the American press. "I think what's emerging in the mainstream media is the awareness that if I can be indicted, other journalists can, too," he said. www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/12/assange-wikileaks-murdoch-files_n_808086.html

I don't think that but if it is proven that he released state secrets..however he is not a citizen of ours so I don't know what crime he could be charged with..treason would be out unless he released somthing about Australia...to smart to have done that. mmmmm...on second thought...can't be charged ..Gitmo...never heard from again..lots of gov't land in the boonies of certain Western States mmmm possible your correct..he should be worried.

While I have mixed feelings about what Assange has done, I have to admit that I do secretly hope that he is prosecuted so that all the information he is holding is finally released.

Funny, at times I also have mixed feelings of. I think it's because of the voyageur in me actually..but I do feel there are things that really fall in the "right to know ", possible a bit of my back ground..but I will say, as I get older, that part seems to be chipped away , more and more.

This guy comes across as a screwball trying to get attention and stay in the spotlight. I am sure Murdock is worried sick over this nut case. He most likely views Assange as a pesky little fly in the room.
