SES: You must be tickled pink about the new window.
Honey: Good for you with the brat. Some people are truly amazing at how stupidly they parent (or don't...)
Sheila: Glad things are going better for you with your DOD. Do your parents not see you DBRO for what he is?
Doing well today. Slept well for the first time in FOREVER. Although had a really tough time waking up. At least DD is fairly patient. She just plays with a bucket of quarters I have in my room. The noise ensures I do NOT go back to sleep LOL.
And DF got the job he REALLY wanted. Plus he had already given notice at his current place so he can start on Monday! (He had accepted a different job that paid more then the other job but after he accepted they told him a bunch of stuff that would make the new job cost more to have) SO excited. It is for a company that has been in business since 1879 here in MN. Employee owned and after a year he will start getting stock or something like that. Plus quarterly bonuses and opportunities to move up in the company!

MK- That's awesome for your DH Huge congrats to him! As for my parents- my brother has always been a difficult child, adult, etc. They worry that if they don't hold his hand through life his kids will be the ones to suffer. I think they feel guilty for not really liking him as a person and over compensate (my dad has told me as much several times) Honey: Absolutely there should be an island or bootcamp or something we can send these repeat offenders too!

Sheila: I think an island surrounded with man eating sharks which supplies dropped off via helicopter. Then we can see who survives at the end of it. Make them build the island from scratch. LOL
Oh I am evil...

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2011 - 05:30 PM
That's right boys and girls. Keep this very important date and time in your calendar - because that is when our exchange program area representative will be coming by to pick up BOTH girls and take them to their new home(s)!!
While a small part of me is feeling rather evil for looking forward to this so much the other part of me is thinking ---- my house is my own again!!!
Yes - there will be large quantities of alcohol consumed later that evening.

YEAH!! Honey.
Guys, would you pray for my friend Jennifer? I met her on babycenter and her DS is 2 weeks younger than Ben. We actually met in person back in March because we both happened to be in Alabama at the same time and did a play date for the boys. She is expecting #2 (just finished her first trimester) and yesterday she went for a check up and the dr could not find the heartbeat, so they sent her to get an ultrasound. The ultrasound edema all over and only a partially formed heart. There is no chance of survial for the baby and it can cause health problems for her as well. They are doing an amnio next week to determine exactly what is wrong, but there is nothing to be done.

Oh Muttley that is heartbreaking. I will certainly pray for her and wish her the best.
Honey - Yay for having a final date and time for eviction (so to speak). I went on and read your whole drama with the girls. You are a far more patient woman than I would be in that situation. And we should all pray for whoever ends up with that horse loving one.

Afternoon all -- Beautiful weather has been replaced with rain. A day of rest. MK -- Yeah for DH! SES -- Enjoy your bay window! muttley -- prayers and hugs coming your way. Very heartbreaking. honey -- Woohoo! A little something to start the celebration. dakota -- enjoy your workout! sheila -- kudos for taking a difficult step to work on family drama. Military cadences for working out could be interesting.

Oh, and another piece of good news to share.
Last night in the mail I received the following:
* Several checks from my FSA account funds - $690 total
* A refund from my mortgage company as I overpaid escrow this year - $233
* A call that my new glasses came in early and I can come over Thursday to pick them up

mk- congrats to DF!
muttelyn- so sorry to hear about your friend's loss. may you have the right words and a listening ear when she needs it most.
honey- wooo to the hoooo! so glad that D-day is coming. As in 'get out of my d@mn house and take your destructive attitudes elsewhere!' day. Sent you a message here about visiting next month
today was definitely a spend, need to count them up on my calendar. I bought the tickets for my trip in November (down $50 since I started tracking them and I got direct flights) and arranged the rental car. Other than that I haven't been spending much, just cranking through work and cleaning the house.
also haven't talked to my parents since the disastrous bday dinner last weekend but I'm not in the mood to either.
I did get a surprise call yesterday when I was holed up in bed, sick and trying to work on my laptop through the pain. the 12 yo I have known since she was born called to say hi and we had a good talk. She has 5, count 'em 5, brothers so it's like an adopted sister situation. I'm sad I won't be able to see her next month but I'll probably visit again in Feb when I take my next trip back east.

It ate my post!!! ACK! I even had a chart in it... <pouts efficiently>
MK- Congrats to DF! muttleyn- I will definitely say some words, light a candle for your friend. I don't remember how my DM was after losing my brother's twin, but I do remember how she was after losing my other brother. I can't imagine. ses- Can't remember if I said this- YAY for the new window- finally! And just in time for winter... honey- I just may have to drink to that!
I am thinking an island that only appears at low tide on the condition that we toss my father on there too (non-swimmer). But he would probably give the sharks a tummy ache.
I am fighting with this computer later. I had to get on the line to the home office and fix a snafu earlier.

Thanks for all the music suggestions. I'm pretty sure I have a bunch of those just need to TSF to my mp3 player.
Yesterday was a spend. I bought DH & mini-D matching math t-shirts for Christmas. Mini-D loves wearing the same shirt as his dad. He keeps asking why I don't have one too, but I really don't want a math t-shirt. Though I thought wearing his "Have milk, need Pi" shirt when I was BFing mini-D was funny. I want to get us matching KU shirts, but for some reason I can not find kids and adult shirts in the same design.
Muttley- Hugs to your friend.

dakota: Thanks for having people do the music lists! I am copying them down for DF to find.
Muttley: sending prayers and good juju for your friend. I can't imagine how hard this must be for her.
mizbear: Did you DMOM lose the twin at birth? I can't imagine how hard it would be to lose a child (or infant) much less children.
DF and I took DS#1 and DD to pumpkin patch. We went on the corn maze, kids played in the dried corn bin they had with toys. Then they played with kittens, fed the cows and goats. Then we went for ice cream. Weather is a beautiful sunny fall day. Temp not too bad.

Muttley: Hugs to your friend. Honey: Congrats on ridding your house of the toxic twins It's been one of those days: The Good- DH has another interview this time with the higher up's- the three heads of the construction division. Guess they are all making a special trip to the corporate office to meet with him. This is this coming Monday. The Bad- idiot that he is dropped something on the floor while driving, looked down to get it, blew a stop sign and ended up in a freaking corn field. In the middle of nowhere of course. So $150 tow trip later and the jeep in sitting in my garage. His airbags deployed and he "thinks" the radiator is cracked but isn't really sure. I was so mad I basically told him to "figure it out like a grown up" and text me later with his plan. I am so done holding his hand through life. I hate to sound ungrateful and I am sure you will be sitting there reading this thinking "wow, what a beyotch". Ever since he had the affair life and I took him back life has been one downhill spiral after another. DH lost two jobs in CA, foreclosed on the house, moved to MN, got a free truck from my dad that he blew the engine out of by ignoring an oil leak, laid off with no unemployment. I borrow from my dad to buy him a new vehicle- gets broadsided by an uninsured driver. Borrow a loaner from my dad. Buy him a new (to him) vehicle and now he pulls this stunt. I swear if I ever got ahead in life I would probably die from the shock. Pardon me while I go back to my pity party.

Waiting around for the lady to call so I can deliver the flower girl dress. And then I'll be done with the project. I've got the whole adventure as a post in my blog, which I've now got linked in my signature. It's been nagging at the back of my mind to work on it, and when I sat down and started writing about the mess that the flower girl dress was, I realized that it was a blog post waiting to happen. So I made it a blog post rather than boring all of you who don't care about sewing.
To do today: - Deliver flower girl dress (waiting on lady to call) - Do laundry - Clean apartment (something smells funny in here) - Schedule a few more blog posts so I'm ahead of the game - Sew something that doesn't make me want to scream

Sheila: I can SO relate. I am sick of life kicking me in the teeth even though I am doing the right things. Really makes me wonder if DSIS had it right marrying a man she knew could make good money and give her the life she wanted. Not that they haven't had their ups and downs but still....
3cats: glad you have internet. Do you have wifi based on your son or your own?

DM lost both babies at 5 months pregnant. Both on Aug 2 (the same day my grandfather would eventually pass away). She lost the boys 5 years apart. After she lost the first one she was put on bedrest until my brother was born. The worst part is she didn't do the same stupid stuff when pregnant with him that she did with me- like fride the freakin Rebel Yell!
I can totally understand hubby drama- hubby #3 rear-ended a tractor trailer while drunk- and then lied to me about being drunk.
Instead of sending all of the people who annoy us to an island- maybe we should just buy one and go there and take the people we really like. Leave all the annoyances here.

sheila - Glad to hear the good part about your post. Sorry to hear about the bad. I really don't blame you for your attitude about that stuff. You have certainly put up with a lot.
THanks for praying for my friend guys. She really needs it. I think right now she thinks it is all a bad dream, so however it ends it is going to be a very long road.
Honey - The end is sooooo close!! Woohoo. I hope your last night is a good one.
Mizbear - THat is so sad about your mom. I can't imagine being 5 months pregnant and losing the baby.
I have been so bad keeping track of money this month. I have no idea where I am with anything. Even my journal that I usually write if I ate out or worked out, I only have the days I have a hard work out written down and haven't even written down our walks at lunch. I have decided that I am going to run a 5k on November 19th. I thought about doing the one THanksgiving day, but decided not to since we are hosting THanksgiving (or at least we better be because my allergies kill me if we spend too much time at MILs house). Although my goal is still to run it in under 30 minutes, I'm just going to do it no matter what. Even if I have to walk to the whole thing I'm going to do it. On that note, tonight when I ran I was up to 13.5 minutes straight of running before I walked for 3 minutes, than ran 5 more. Considering running 10 minutes straight was a struggle on Saturday, this felt like a huge accomplishment and makes it seem more likely that I may actually make my goal of running a 5k in less than 30 minutes.

MK, I have a laptop. He has 2 desk tops and 2 laptops. He has the Internet and the wireless remote over there. Apparently he has only been paying $100 out of his check on the net, cable and their phone. They got a bundle package. The price went up to $245. He has to have streaming (whatever that is) for his movies, hi def, and the fastest downloading for the Internet because of the games they play on line. I may end up getting my own land line just for the Internet and get a land phone. I don't know what I am going to do. I went down to the library and paid the electric and sent ses a message that I didn't have net and to tell you all and now I do. I should send her another message. I have to get the garbage ready to go out and get feed ready for the stinky kitten outside. She tangled with a skunk. The whole big shed smells because that is where she is staying. I can't wait for the smell to go away. My 200th post.

well still working on photo downloading. there are a lot on my old laptop that got synched to picasa and I'm now downloading them to my new laptop. Thankfully all are synched so if this laptop crashes I'll have an online backup.
but slowly downloading thousands of photos a night takes time.
It was quiet at the gym tonight, thankfully the weekend is pretty dead over there and despite the guy at the desk who almost made me cry last week, I should be able to get in a long workout tomorrow night.
Working on little projects around the house and I'm thinking of refinishing my china cabinet (again) considering it's going to be a long winter and I need projects.
I travel next month to Mass & Conn and so happy to meet up with Honeylioness and see the northeast. Then, thankfully, I'm home until at least Feb when I go back and hope to spend a little bit of time in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut again.

MK- Thanks for understanding. I love my husband but there are days that I am convinced my life would be easier if I was divorced. At least he did put on his big boy pants and start to deal with the fall out. Mechanic friend came by and told him what he would all need to fit it. Messed up the whole front end (instead of just the radiator and the bumper fell off). Ergh! Muttley: DH did some research of the 3 guys he is meeting with on Monday. Impressive to say the least. All have lenghty titles behind their names and run large arms of the corporation. It is a big step up from his initial interview of thinking it would be a lateral move as a field tech. Trying to not get ahead of myself but it could turn into something big for him. Thank goodness it is finally Friday! Unfortunately I was so mad at DH yesterday at work that I was super motivated and got a lot more done than I expected yesterday. Have to find something to keep me busy today.

Shiela - You want to come do some of my work. I have been really unproductive this week and now i have to get 2 sewer plans resubmitted to the city today. UGH. NEver mind that I didn't do them to begin with, so I have no idea what is going on them. GRRR.

Sorry Muttley Would if I could. I learned CAD in college but haven't used it in a few years so I doubt I would be much help. Acutally all of my job files need to be organized and I need to do some end of project summaries but I am really not feeling the motivation this morning.

Update: 8 NSD + 9 CSD = 17 of 26 Been reading this week, but not posting. MIL went in to surgery on Wednesday. She's doing fine. However, DH got sick with major food poisoning Tuesday night, so on Wednesday, on about 3 hours sleep, I had to go to work and deal with some stress there, go help MIL shower and get her to surgery then stick around to help answer questions, then go home and take care of the dogs, DH, and clean the bathroom. Yesterday was better, but there's still crap going on at work that has me wanting to fire someone I don't have the authority to fire. Tomorrow, DH's BFF moves in and becomes a paying roommate (the paying part will be nice). But the house is currently a disaster, so I have to go home tonight and at least get the kitchen cleaned.
muttley: sending your friend healing thoughts. My BFF miscarried a number of times before her first boy was born. It is just so devastating.
sheila: Glad there is some good to balance out the bad this week. Still wishing your DH best of luck on this interview.
honey: Let's see, it's 8am my time, so 11am your time so only 6.5 hours till the girls are gone! I know this has been very stressful for you, but in the end, I think its probably working out for the best that you won't have to worry about kids this year.
mizbear: *hugs* DGM talking to people that aren't there could be lots of things, from alzheimers to general dementia. My DGM never remembered, from one day to the next, that her mother and brother were dead. She often didn't remember any house past the first one she and DGF ever lived in, though she recognized her kids and grandkids. It can be very hard on the family. Sadly, what you're experiencing with your DM and her siblings is the reason why people need to have end of life planning and POAs in place. One person should be designated to legally make all the decisions. Not saying they can't consult the rest of the family, but it prevents the problem of nothing being done because the family can't decide on what to do. Anyway, I hope that you are coping alright and that your MD is able to find out what's going on with your lungs and gets you better.
I'm sorry if I've missed anyone. My brain is just not functioning fully.

Sheila: Take the day off then ;D I hear ya on the thinking it would be easier being divorced. The thought has crossed my mind more then once, I just wouldn't have to go to court since I haven't married him yet.... In fact that is part of why we aren't. Right when I think maybe we should he goes and does something stupid or I get fed up with him.... Actually I think he and I really need to do some focusing on us and our relationship and both of our health. It is hard to focus on us when we can't hire someone to watch DS#2 and the rest of the kids and then you have to be able to afford the dinner! Or whatever activity you chose. Something to reconnect with, be it playing cards at night, darts or whatever after the kids go to bed. Of course doesn't help we have a night owl that doesn't get to bed before 10 most nights...
I have a fun few days planned. DSIS is coming over today and we are taking DS#1, DD and my niece to another corn maze and fall activity thing. Then we will take DS#1 for a new Halloween costume. It is a beautiful sunny fall day. Then we are keeping my niece overnight and going to an activity tomorrow and getting pumpkins and the kids can play. Then later that night DSIS is coming back and we are taking the 3 kids to a Halloween thing.

3cats: Well no wonder they don't have any money if he is pissing it away on that stuff. None of which is a necessity. BTW if you don't have internet it is on HIS side not yours. He or the kids has mess with the wifi or are taking all the internet space (aka bandwidth.)

okay, what's happening with our Friday Happy Hour? Is it time to drink up yet? I've got coffee but if we're celebrating the departure of the dastardly duo from Honey's abode then I'll need something stronger!
way distracted from work today, I really would rather take a smallish nap or two and baste outside in the sunshine. The second would require getting dressed though so maybe not. I'll be heading back to the gym tonight to read and workout, I hope it's quiet.
MOAN - 6 that I wrote down, I think it's closer to 10
