RDT, Why did you delete the OP? It went to a clearly military oriented site, and one that I thought was a well thought out and inspirational.
I wanted to show somebody the post.

It asked for contributions on Sgt Meyer's webpage for the educational charity for kids whose parents died in Iraq and Afghanistan that he is involved with. And I could be wrong but I think that is not allowed here... ? I was banned a few years ago for posting a military website that asked for Christmas cards and letters be sent to the Marines (1st Radio Battalion) in Iraq if you recall?? Btw Henry did you happen to catch Sgt Meyer on the Dave Letterman Show last week?? It was probably one of Letterman's best show and really funny.... The You Tube Videos only have @ 4 minutes of the 30 minute interview...

If it was several years ago the ban took place, rdt, it wasn't these boards that banned you. It must have been the MSN boards. I don't believe anyone had mentioned banning you here for posting a link to a military website that asked for Christmas cards, or anything else good and worthwhile. I feel comfortable in assuring you that wouldn't happen here.

reformeddaytrader, if you want to promote sending Christmas cards to another unit this year please post it or PM me. I'd love to send Christmas cards to our troops. Just call me an old army brat. I know not every solder has family to remember them.

I know not every solder has family to remember them. Ok if I am still here this Christmas I will do that for you agathas and appreciated your sentiments. BTW Sgt Meyer was just accepted to be a trainee for the New York Fire Department even though he could have written his own ticket in the Marines....he said he wanted to help others and chose New York City because of the attacks there on 9.11...... I hope he stays in the Marines inactive reserves for a few years and can probably serve as Fireman in NYC and still maintain his connections with the Marine Corps..
