After a workout do you shower, towel off, use sanitizing gel, scent killing spray, or body wipes? Or? Yesterday I showered in the monring then went to evening Zumba, and did nothing to clean up afterward. My clothing was not damp with sweat. Today I showered before my workout but did nothing afterward as I will shower again before an evening meeting. I have used scent killing spray on my hair which is shampooed every other day. The hair is still dry. I have used Fabreze on clothes I have been cleaning in and plan to wear to the gym on the same day. When I am several days in a place without water, I will use waterless shampoo for deoderizing body wash and/or baby wipes.

Showering at the gym is GROSS. I do not shower after working out unless I'm feeling dirty.

If it was a decent work out and I'm sweating pretty good I gotta shower. I don't have strong BO or anything, but I can't stand feeling sweat dry on my skin. So gross.

If I work out in the morning, I shower afterwards. If I work out at night I just change my clothes and wash my hands and face. And I don't mind showering at the gym. I love being able to take a hot shower without having to pay for the hot water.

I love being able to take a hot shower without having to pay for the hot water. That and you like being naked with strange men............ Sweating has nothing to do with "detoxification" There is widespread belief that sweating, for example, in a sauna, helps the body to remove toxins, but the belief is without scientific support." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/13066656

I agree working out at home then showering is easier. I agree with Dr. Pig about not paying fot the hot water or towels and soap in some facilities. Years ago I read somewhere that one person showering everyday costs $30. I started using my own soap and shampoo agan when I realized their soap might be rancid or not cleaning effectively. I can get drenching sweaty playing golf in the heat. I try to watch my outdoor heat exposure because of near heat exhaustion a couple of times. There is a shower at our golf facility but shower sandles are required and keep all your belongings with you. I also use rubbing alcohol on my hands and feet as soon as I get to my car after golf the reduce swelling. My fitness is so much better this year that I don't need the rubbing alcohol after tennis. I applaud those who are fit enough to just glisten during/after workout. A wash cloth is great for term sweating or to just dry off a bit. GNC magazine had an article several years ago with a detox diet. I found it too restricted on calories for me but I did try it. I managed to get rid of the liver spots on my hands in a couple of months.
