Like 5 hour energy and the others that are on the market...
Anyone use them? I got a free sample - it looks like it is B6 and B12. Are those vitamins really that potent?
They've got the warning that they haven't been evaluated by the FDA - so they might do nothing. Are they building a whole category on the placebo effect?
Do they give you energy? Do they make you jittery or cause you trouble sleeping?
Anyone ever heard of any side-effects?

No, I try to keep my diet as natural as possible. No supplements, no drugs, no refined/processed foods. I do take a multivitamin, but even then I forget to take it sometimes. Also, these energy drinks are way overpriced in my opinion. If you maintain a healthy diet and get enough sleep/exercise, you shouldn't feel the need for them.

99% of the time, if it gives you quick energy, it contains caffeine as the main ingredient. That being said I've never tried them.

It says "The same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee." Of course - there is a big difference between the weak coffee in the tiny cups at Denny's and a double espresso - so who knows.

I believe the standard for a cup of coffee is 100mg caffeine. I don't do energy drinks. I do use Emergen-C, but not for any energy boost. If you do get an energy boost from vitamins, it means your diet is deficient in that vitamin.

D.H. uses those for traveling by car when he gets tired. He does try different energy drinks for taste and effectiveness, too.
I don't use them. I take a nap or drink coffee.

Naps aren't great when you are driving.

I have a friend who loves 5 hour energy. He swears by them.
I punch myself in the scrotum when I need energy.

5 Hour Energy is a scam. Nothing special in there.
Besides, 99.9% of "supplements" are not evaluated by FDA.

Something does not have to be evaluated by the FDA to be effective. In fact, it's better they are not.

Totally agree. I was just replying to someone's post since they mentioned FDA.
None of the stuff I take is FDA approved and it works awesome.
