I eat when I'm sleepy.
My solutions:
go to bed right promptly before the munchies start or
Munch on reaallly low calorie stuff and drink some water.

My greatest problem is bad genetics.
My solution is to do the best I can, knowing it will never be good enough....

I'll second the bad genetics. I have a laundry list of conditions in my family (most of which my dad has). As far as personal habits, stress eating has always been a big one. I mostly cured it last year, but it's rearing its ugly head again.... This past week I was away for my grandmother's funeral, and dealing with my family for the week resulted in lots of overeating. Not good....

It's said
~25-33% is genetics and the rest is lifestyle.

My condolances J.
I have a few pitfalls that need to be overcome. I dislike cardio to the maximum of Ceelo Green, forget you. To overcome it I will do the best I can on any given day.
I have very tender skin. I just relearned that with heat, friction, and sweat I will get a blister on lower index finger of my racquet hand. Put a glove on when this gets healed and I hope it doesn't wreck my weight training. I am also a tender foot.
As far as eating is concerned, I will try to eat healthy but I am going to enjoy some foods I would never eat a few years ago. And that indulgence does accumulate.
My biggest pitfall is aging. The body does fill out and change shape no matter what a person does. I am not trying to bodybuild but just keep some strength, agility, flexibility and endurance so I can play tennis and golf knowing I have a good foundation of fitness.
I use fitness training as an overcomer if something is wrong. A relative was very ill so I hit the gym daily. The reli is better and so am I.

I'm a stress eater also. I'm incredibly addicted to carbs.
I've not overcome it.
