Does anyone here use Kettlebells? I went to a taster workshop a week ago and liked them. I've been doing Body Pump (low weights, high reps) twice a week for years and am toned but haven't built much upper body strength.
I'm a little concerned they are more unforgiving of imperfect form than barbells and dumbells and I don't want to risk serious injury.
Does anyone have any recommendations for Kettlebells e.g. which ones to purchase, what DVD(s)/ book(s) to get etc?

I have used kettle bells for wood chop and swing between the legs to chest high for abs. I watched a lady at the FC and she used a kb with arms over her head and a small circle with her shoulder. I could see that would work all your rib cage area. I, too, have been interested in them but haven't taken a class. Another move I saw was a kettle bell held by the ball part, person lying on their back then take the kettle bell in a sideway curl to the side of your chest a few inches lower than your underarm and up. Similar to a tricep extension. Crossfit uses the kettle bell swing through the legs. Other than that I don't know much. We'll be interested to know what you decide and how they work for you. Keep them away from Snerdley though!

Snerdley, I know it's good to get some iron in your diet but you're not supposed to eat them. (I'm assuming that was what you were referring to ) Artemis3044 - Thanks. I've downloaded a couple of sample chapters of kettlebell books for my kindle and have an appointment at the gym on Thursday where I might get shown some kettlebell exercises (or it might just be the fitness test this time and I will have to schedule another appointment to get a program).
