Do anyof the ladies here have breast implants? I got mine in 2006 after I had DD1. They have been great except one of them just recently got encapsulated. Does anyone know of a non surgical way to get rid of this? I live in a different state than where I got them done, so going into my plastic surgeon isn't an option right now.

You might want to ask this on the Healthy Living board. You'll have more viewers and I doubt the mods will object so long as the conversation is kept clinical.

If the implant is encapsulated, doesn't that mean that scar tissue has developed around the whole implant and calcium is being deposited in that scar tissue? If so, that means that the body is treating the implant as a foreign body and is walling it off to protect you. I think you have to have surgery to correct that and maybe get a new implant.

You may live in a different state than the Plastic Surgeon that originally performed your surgery, but that does not mean you can not seek their advice via phone or e-mail.
I would at least try to get some basic direction from them.

Thanks Ladies for the info! Ugh- I was hoping to not have surgery, but it appears that I may have to do just that. I recall my plastic surgeon telling me to let him know if I got it , and he said I wouldn't like the treatment, but he said it would basically be him squeezing my breast until it popped. Sounds painful, but better than more surgery. I was hoping to keep these for 10 years and it's only been five.

That does sound on the painful side.
