I joined weight watchers and found this super awesome veggie soup... Just al vegetables and some seasoning. It's delicious! I've already lost 5 pounds! I've been eating usually 1-2 big bowls of it and it helps me eat less of everything else. Plus I've been eating 1-2 pieces of fruit a day. Last night I had some super delicious strawberries!! I feel tons better eating like this. Not a natural diet... just more of veggies and fruits as I can get. And also drinking lots of water too. I still splurge here and there like a couple cookies the other night, Jimmy John's for lunch yesterday.. and I'm still doing good! I love it

lifegoeson, can you share the recipe? I'm always looking for new soup recipes! MM, kudos to you. I'm trying to do the same, but I'm seeing that bad habits are hard to break. tonight at the grocery store, I was only running in for a couple missing items for tonight's dinner.....I turned and looked at the chips aisle, debating a bag of Doritos, and decided against it. I'm getting there....you will too.

It's ok, as long as you're not making money from the sites.

MM, that sounds sort of like what Jillian Michaels says in Master Your Metabolism. She is big on organic, real food. I can add carbs back slowly (I am doing a mix of South Beach and Atkins) and will focus on whole grains when I do. My problem is that I am a carb addict so I have to watch my carb intake or I go overboard. For right now, it is easier to just avoid carbs

I ate 5 tostito chips and an oreo cookie last night - is that considered "clean"?

Hey guys! Sorry I just now saw your responses. I am copying and pasting the recipe! Lots of veggies! And you can add or substitute for other veggies. Like the Swiss Chard, my store didn't have any so I substituted Kale for it instead:
Ingredients 2 clove(s) (medium) garlic clove(s), minced 1 medium onion(s), diced 2 medium carrot(s), diced 1 medium sweet red pepper(s), diced 1 stalk(s) (medium) celery, diced 2 small zucchini, diced 2 cup(s) green cabbage, shredded 2 cup(s) Swiss chard, chopped 2 cup(s) cauliflower, small florets 2 cup(s) broccoli, small florets 2 tsp thyme, fresh, fresh, chopped 6 cup(s) vegetable broth 2 Tbsp parsley, or chives, fresh, chopped 1/2 tsp table salt, or to taste 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, optional
Instructions Put garlic, vegetables, thyme and broth into a large soup pot. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer, partly covered, about 10 minutes.
Stir in parsley or chives; season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Yields about 1 cup per serving. Notes If you like thick soups, consider pureeing this recipe in the pot with an immersion blender.
There are so many variations on this recipe. Add or leave out vegetables to suit your taste.
Save time by using frozen vegetables instead of fresh ones (though the texture of the soup might change a bit). You can also buy small amounts of pre-cut vegetables from your supermarket's salad bar.

Hey MM, I think your diet is a great idea. If you have any questions I will be browsing this forum a lot more now that I know it is here . My dads herbalist in the mountains has helped turned me around to eating like a human is supposed to(for great health that is). This started about 4 years ago, I started to transition to mainly organic foods. My diet currently is an 80/20 diet, 80 percent being organic and 20 percent being the occasional out to eat type of meal. This first thing that got me on track which I might suggest is a full body cleanse using planetary herbal products( tricleanse, triphala, bupleurum). Just the cleanse in itself made me feel a whole lot better. I went from having headaches, pains, acid reflux, getting sick to not having any of these issues. After a while the whole/organic foods end up tasting better and now when I try something fast food it makes my stomach turn. I know that it can get expensive, but I think it is worth it. I problaby pay out about 200 every 2 weeks just for myself. I have to note that I do extensive workout programs though like p90x and insanity, which requires the higher calories . The main thing is getting the build up of junk and processed stuff out of the system. This will take a long time, that is how nature works. This is the same thing for losing weight or sculpting your body(without doing severe harm to it). A lot of people when it comes to fitness and health want to find the quick fix and to be honest this is not possible without damaging vital functions of your body. Say for instance the body cleanse I take will take you about 2 months or more to finish. These cleanses that are like 7 day cleanses are horrible for your body, it is like being a 400 lb out of shape human trying to do a workout that an nfl player does. The 400 lb out of shape human is going to pull/hurt something let alone be in pain from the over exertion. He has to slowly work into, this is the same way that I see that nature works with our body. I have a good book, that has some recipes and a lot of information for you(that is if you haven't already acquired it). He also has a website that has some good info on. I'm always looking for new soup recipes!
Great recipe, lifegoeson... I use vegetable juice (like V8) and season with Malabar peppercorns.
Lazy Stuffed Cabbage Soup:
Vegetable Juice. Diced Tomatoes- low sodium. All types of Cabbage- shredded. Browned and crumbled Ground Round (amount consistent with diet regimen). Kosher Salt. Malabar peppercorns.
Combine ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer and let it break down. Stir occasionally.
Make some Jasmine Rice like it says on the package. When cooked, put in the refrigerator. About 20 minutes before serving your soup, add the cold Rice. Bring it back to temperature.
This is a terrific lunch. We eat it often throughout the winter. Very good for you in many ways.
