I always wanted to experiment with making my own bread. I brew and just throw my steeped grains away. I'd bet they would make great bread! Your flour mill has grinding settings, maybe making the milled grain coarser will help, it does when I crack it for beer. Please update as you continue experimenting!

Don't be afraid to leave it for a long, long rise. I think a slow rise makes fluffier bread, even with all whole wheat. Also, I don't know why, but my bread rises better in stoneware pans than glass. Keep enjoying your bread, it sounds delicious!

Stoneware does a better job on everything. I have a pizza stone with the best burnt-in glaze you can imagine! Do any of you add stuff to your bread, like herbs or cheeses? Wondering if you do it at the ingredient mixing stage or fold it in just before baking?

It doesn't have to be just "fattening". It could be healthy too. We make marshmallow treats using all kinds of good-for-you stuff, bound together with fluff. Kind of like homemade trail treats. You can do that with bread much easier. My soup cook books came with bread ideas too. Just swap out FAT for fruit grain nut herb, etc. It's all good!

I love making and eating the no knead bread. I don't think I'll ever get into making real bread, but the no knead stuff is so freaking easy and tasty....

Oh, I know! The worst part about being the cook in my house is surviving the aroma. Arch... are you referring to frozen bread dough?

You would like this wheat, it doesn't taste anything like what you would buy. These loaves were delicious, they were sweetened with honey. Loved the pictures, adding the honey is a great idea. I think I will have to make some bread this weekend. I don't have any wheat flour so it will have to be white bread. Adding wheat flour to my grocery list

It is a no knead douhg receipe that got popular a few years ago because it was posted in the NY Times. Google No Kneed Bread New York Times and you will find a recipee. It is super easy to make and it is really good. It is a crusty, artisan type bread, not a sandwich bread.

I have been making beer bread, its no yeast, takes less than five minutes to mix up, bake and hour and its its a hit with my family. I just bought bought some unbleached flour, maybe next time I will try it with wheat bread. This makes incredible toast the next day. www.food.com/recipe/tastefully-simple-copycat-beer-bread-259441g
