Do you find yourself getting bored of doing the same exercises over and over? Do you find that your current workout no longer makes you sore? Try some of these lesser known exercises. I've never seen anyone in any gym doing these but they are highly effective. Triceps:The JM Press. If you've never done them you'll be sore. Targets the lower tri and is great for improving your bench press. Delts:Dumbbell raises. Great for targeting the middle head. www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/dumbbell-raiseGrip strength:Farmers carry. Pick up the heavest dumbbells you can find and start walking until you drop them. Biceps:Good for muscle peak. Drag curl www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/detail/view/name/drag-curl

Oh yeah.. I am gonna try those JM Presses. Looks nice.
Funny thing, I just recently added Dumbell rises to my shoulder's routine in addition to lateral rises. I like them too!

Yeah I love them. I just tryed them (those raises) for the first time last week and it felt really good. I've never seen anyone doing them before. While I think bodybuilding.com sucks they have an excellent exercise library there. You'll love those presses it was the first time my tris got sore in a long time.

Doc, these look great and I plan to try them.
In your black bag of doc things, do you have something that will slim my granny arms rather than build? I am thinking lateral raises front, side and back but I'd rather have a good combination so I can get through fast.

yup, I used to do those when I was lifting a ton awhile back. they are a killer on the tri's, but they absolutely work! the other thing we'd do was french curls (I think that's what they were called) with the bicep curl bars - overhand grip but do a bicep curl. you'd feel it in the triceps as well.

Interesting question! I will assume you're referring to that baggy area on the rear of the arms that women frequently get when they get older. If that's the case I can indeed help. My wife was beginning to get them and she's not overweight at all. I was able to correct it with her.
It's actually caused by a lack of muscle mass and tone. The raises you mention (if I'm reading it correctly) are for your shoulders and won't help you. You need to work out your triceps and to a lesser degree your bicep. Once you have enough muscle on your tri the skin will no longer appear baggy. Do some lying triceps extensions and those JM presses as well.

Okay. I can't get away for tris/bis so I will add the needed weight and variety. I feel my arms are too big and the additional weight will make them bigger. I know I could increase the cardio intensity, too.
I love your happy chocolate eating piggy. Life must be better for you. ;D

That's not chocolate. Well the thing is, flabby backside of the arms will be remidied by working your tris. It won't make your arms smaller (only weight loss will do that) but it will improve the look tremendously. Adding muscle won't make your arms bigger because if they are flabby there is a lot of room for that muscle to tighten up the skin.
