do you have to be in the best physical condition?

female US Forest Service Wilderness Fireman. Surely you jest Arty! Depends upon what type of fitness you're talking about. If you mean cardiovascular fitness any professional sport which requires running. Overall fitness I'm sure someone in Recon, Green Berets, Rangers etc are either fit or they don't make it.

No jest Pig. I agree with both of you. I know there are a lot of super fit professions that I can only . I'm looking at overall fitness. Those wilderness fire fighters are all out with no relief backup, usually. I'm not privy to the real job of the military super fits other than what is portrayed on TV. Only a Kenyan can aspire to running like they do.

I have never seen Austrailian Rules Football. Are games televised in the U.S.? I'll have to watch for one. Is it like soccer but full contact like NFL football without the pads?

I agree with the NFL somewhat but most of them have recurring injuries to their joints. They also have an off season.
I don't know how those exotic dancers keep their bodies so nice.

I don't know how those exotic dancers keep their bodies so nice. They keeps the lights low and the booze flowing.

What recreation do you need to be able to do 100 finger tip pull ups without kipping?

What recreation do you need to be able to do 100 finger tip pull ups without kipping? I'm thinking the answer here is rock climbing? I used to work as a belayer for outdoor fitness rock courses, and the most of the avid climbers could easily do multiple one finger pull ups, including the women. Flexibility, insane strength, and depending on the type of climb, endurance are all needed for the activity. My dad was big into free climbing when he was younger (they didn't have harnesses at the time anyway) and would do multi day ascents up places like Half-Dome and El Cap in Yosemite. You set out a hammock a couple hundred feet up, eat a tin of sardines, then start climbing again in the morning.

Copperpouches, you are correct. The rock/mountain climbers have moved to first place, because they do this for FUN. My DH pointed this out while we were watching boulder climbers, and for most of them, this is a hobby. I didn't know someone could be a professional at boulder climbing. I can add 100 finger tip, no kipping pull ups to never going to happen in this lifetime list.
