I fell off the wagon big time. Part of it was a knee injury, but at least 50% of it was lost momentum/laziness. Oh, and summer hit and I've been drinking more in the evenings. Sigh...I seem to have lost all my muscles. Anyway, this morning was the start of a new phase (kids in camp) and I hit the gym pretty hard. I was proud of myself...until I ended up lifting next to a 20-something in an almost identical outfit as mine. Her body looked like the "after" pic and I was most definitely the "before" pic. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to the gang. And now I'm going to go beat my head against the wall because it is 6pm and I'd LOVE a glass (or two) of wine. Pig, I'll be strong if you're strong with the cigs! ;D

It's all good! I started running again today - my Y classes ended last week, I started going back to yoga and I'm getting back on the running wagon. Legs hurt, so I feel good! I always see people that look better than me at the gym, but whatever - my motivation is that maybe someday I'll look half as good as them

You are not behind, jump in where you are at. I saw you lookin at the gals back side. ;D Back OT. Stay on the workout program. Just do something everyday even if it's 10 situps and 10 pushups. It's the good habit formation. Because, the older you get the harder and longer you have to workout to keep from sagging. I've 2 yrs. trying to get back to a shadow of my former self. I lack the drive for the increase in intensity.

I tell ya...I saw Cirque du Soleil a couple weeks ago and I wanna be like them. I know...they are all professional athletes/dancers who haven't had kids, but still....they were soooooooooooooooo impressive!!! One woman did an entire 5-10 minute performance balancing her body ONE ONE HAND. That's a good tip about doing something every day. I know I'm going to hurt like hell tomorrow, but I'll at least do some cardio to get into the habit and (hopefully) mitigate some of the soreness.

I just finally got rid of my last winter weight by working out like a crazy woman. It takes time, but if you stick with it, the wait is worth it. Size 4 jeans fit again, and I can actually sit down in them.

It's never too late to get back at it. Keep going until you can't live without it. I'm in the addiction stage, don't know what I would do without it.

You'll be back up to speed in no time. I will be strong with the cigs but I've delayed the next quit attempt to after my wife gets back from vacation because I know I won't be strong without her there......too easy to cheat. Great on getting back to the gym, it can take a monumental effort to get back into the swing but it only gets easier!
