this one is a running pet peeve: Parents not running WITH their young children. The last 5k I ran, it was H O T. Very hot. I was having a really tough time, and these 2 little girls (about 8 or 10 yrs old) were running near me the entire race. They'd stop to walk, I'd pass them, then they'd start running again. After the 2 mile mark, they pretty much stayed behind me. As we approached the finish line, I was running next to the curb (a full 2 lane road open to my right). One of those kids comes flying past me, gets right in front of me, and stops to walk! I almost ran into her.  |
