went to gym over my lunch hour (yes with full make up, quick shower after and re-apply) and hit pet peeve number whatever - people who walk around fully nude in the locker room. Two old women shower naked out in the open showers, then walk around naked, then sit on bench naked and talk - sheesh! I don't care if you are 60 or 20, skinny or fat, I don't want to see you naked that much!!!! Get a freakin towel.
a couple of my other top pet peeves that have already been mentioned: - being stared at (am I doing something wrong, have something on my face???) - month of january packed - huge amounts of grunting and dropping weights when there are signs not to do that - when I'm taking a class (body pump, zumba) and have staked out a spot to dance or have equipment and someone comes and stands way too close to me like I'm not there not giving me space to participate so I have to readjust equipment and move.

. Women in full make-up, jewelry and cutsy outfits flirting like it's social hour. Aren't there other places for that? Since I now get up at 4:30 to go to the gym, I don't put make-up on before going..however, other than that I do not leave my house without make-up. I always have cute clothes...I guess I'm ok though because I am not much of a jewelry person.

I can't exercise with my hair down either, it is annoying. Maybe she was practicing for a shampoo commercial?

LOL Fam... everyone knows that diamonds go with EVERYTHING!!!! Okay.. another pet peeve.. the woman on the spin bike next to me last night was wearing this awful sickening sweet smelling perfume or lotion... ack! I wanted to puke. Another pet peeve (and this same woman was also an offender) is women wtih long hair who wear their hair down while they work out.. I don't get it! That would drive me nuts. My hair is down to the middle of my back and I pull all of back into a pony tail, off of my face and my neck. I don't even like the feel of my ponytail on my back so sometimes I will even tuck the ends into the band. STOP JUDGING ME!!!LOL I have pretty long hair and I wear it down. I don't wear pony tails as I look horrible in one

People in class that do a totally different thing than the instructor is saying. Really, if you don't want to follow instructions and lift the weights, or stand up on the bike, or do a tree pose instead of a downward facing dog, why are you in the class? People who take the elevator up one flight of stairs, ok, maybe it's 1.5 flights of stairs... 34 steps (not that I have counted them ). The stairs are faster, people, even with noodle legs.

I usually never take my rings off when I work out don't be hating!!! I do take the engagement ring off when I'm hiking or climbing though. And my workout clothes aren't necessarily "cute", and I almost never wear makeup anyway, so I'd never have it on for the gym I am always annoyed when I see girls in makeup working out!! My biggest pet peeve at the gym - when I forget my headphones & have to listen to news or idiots around me talking

People who sit on the bench in the locker room in their wet bathing suit, but don't wipe up the puddle when they leave. Thanks, I love starting my workout with a wet ass.

Yes Tractor, I think it's about time for an update! I was going to take some this weekend, but didn't get there yet. I am starting to get a little tan now so the next set shouldn't have as much glare. I'll try to get some this week, but I don't think I've changed that much.

Because due to some physical problems, those things may exacerbate any medical issues.
Prior to my hip replacements, lunges would send me into pain for days. So I did something else while the rest of the class did lunges.
Some things are just not recommended for those with back, hip, knee or other joint problems, but they still can get something out of the rest of the class.

My criteria for any haircut is that there must be at least enough hair to pull up in a ponytail, even if it looks stupid. I HATE hair on the back of my neck when I work out.
I just got sheared last week and went to PT with my hair down. UGH! Last time that'll happen.

I'm with you on the exercise modifications, Mich.
I have shoulder problems, so I have to modify push ups (legs straight out, but upper body elevated). I can't do any of the body pump moves with a bar across my shoulders, so I use 2 dumb bells. And I've found that lunges stepping BACK instead of forward are much easier on my knees.
I really hate folks who come to a CROWDED exercise class and don't work out! There was a very good pilates instructor...her classes were always packed. There were a few groups who'd come to the class and 'visit' while doing a half-assed workout. If you want to chit chat, go for a walk outside together!
I also hate to see some of these folks on cardio machines who are barely moving (they aren't rehabbing - they move just fine walking to their car to leave). There are a few regulars who get on the stair master and barely move. What a waste of time!

Just have a new one to add as it happened to me this weekend. You're doing leg extentions and your balls get scrunched at the top of the movement. Painful and you can't really stop to adjust as there are too many people around.

I have a new pet peeve. There's this guy at my gym who uses many of the machines in an unintended and offensive manner. You really have to see it, but it just seems wrong and perverted to me, like using the tricep extensions to do lat pulldowns (he kneels down in front of the tricep extension machine and pulls down on the handles), or gets on the elliptical facing backwards. It is just so weird to see someone misuse equipment like that, and for some reason it really gets to me.

Hmmm, have you tried bringing a leaf blower to gym and seeing how he uses that?
