I don't watch it often, but I like the premise. I don't like it when they kick people off each week or when they kick somebody off the first day. I'd like to see them keep people on for at least 4 weeks before starting to kick them off. At least that way they can get a routine started and learn some more things.

I love this show, but can't vote for some reason. it's great to see people that have never had the opportunity to live healthy lives, getting the education to do so. it's also great to see those that have lost their way, like Rulon Gardner this season, finding their way back.

I voted no. I do like the healthy eating lessons of the show, but the amount of time that the contestants spend exercising is not realistic for most people. If you are able to go to a place like that and get the assistance that you need good on you, but exercising 4-6 hours a day in the real world is not feasible for most people.

I like the show. I tend to find that when I watch it, I feel like a lazy slug and it gives me a kick in the bum to do more in my workout. After all, if that 300# guy can run, what's my excuse for not doing it?

I use to really like that show - when it was an hour long. NBC is frickin desperate. They are trying to figure out how to fill up their programming and taking this show to 120 minutes really turned it into a pile of crap. They had about 32 minutes of material, and they still only have 32 minutes of material. They will show the same clip 4 or 5 times during the same show. Last season was boring. The DVR is still set to record it, and the kids like it - but if they are watching it, I turn it off - so very boring.
I would also like to see them fill that extra time with even more nutritional data. About half of that discussion is a Jenny-O commericial, and I don't like how much they push pre-packaged crap - like sugar-free jello, etc. I'm very anti-nutrasweet. I think those chemicals mess with your taste buds.

I don't think about all the lag time because I only watch it off DVR and use fast forward alot.

Oh - definately a DVR show. It is completely unwatchable live. Unless you are also cooking dinner, reading a book, folding laundry, spot treating the carpet, drunk and talking on the phone.

I think it's totally unrealistic. If you go back and look at the past contestants, most have regained the weight....and more.
It's not normal to lose 17 lbs in a week.....nor to spend 6 hours/day exercising.

Well, pretty much every weight loss program has a 95% or more failure rate - I don't see why an intense one such as this should be any different.
I watched Tuesday night's show last night with the kids. We watched the challenge with the rafts and the weigh in. Without all the other stuff, it was kinda fun.

I am in between... I like it because it can actually motivate people to get off the couch and do something about their lives. I don't like it in the sense that some people expect to get the same results as the people on tv and get discouraged if they don't.

I liked the Biggest Loser when it first started as it focused more on the exercising and struggles for the unhealthy contestants. Now it just seems to be those "spontaneous" infomercial moments, games-playing and in-fighting of the contestants, and trying to get overly dramatic crying moments from them.

I do watch it on HULU (no TV) and it helps with my own motivation BUT it is not that helpful to the average person who is 30-50 pounds overweight, works full time and needs more nutrition info than a Jennie O or sugar free gum commercial. I understand they need sponsors. Less psychosocial crying and more good info for the viewers would be nice. I also want to hear how they feel each week. Are they sore, tired, stronger, more energy? Can they tell they lost 12 pounds in a week. It just took me 6 weeks to lose 12 and I can tell. Nobody ever complains about being hungry or cravings. Did that behavior just go away or is it a taboo subject? I exercise 1-2 hours 4-5 days a week and feel I am doing well. I could not exercise for 4-6 hours because like most people I work full time, need to fix dinner, clean up the kitchen, do a few other household chores and try to get to bed by a reasonable time.

I used to like it when it first came on now it is annoying. However, I did see A & E now has a new show called Heavy, sort of the same lines as the Biggest Loser, but more down to earth and real. I think it premiers this Monday, I am looking forward to that.

I saw part of it for the first time this week. I won't watch it again. As others have mentioned, it's completely unrealistic. I do like the fact that it made me aware of Jillian Michaels. I own a couple of her workout tapes and while I wouldn't go so far as to say I "enjoy" them, I find her less obnoxious than many when having the television tell me to move my ass.

As others have mentioned, it's completely unrealistic.
Compared to the constant barrage these days of ads for weight-loss pills, fad diets, and surgeries, I find the Biggest Loser approach of "eat less, get off your butt and exercise, and lose weight" to be not only refreshing but comparatively realistic. Look, I get the point about the average person not having anywhere near the time to work out like the contestants do...but the average person isn't trying to lose half their body weight in the span of a television season, either. If you go back and look at the past contestants, most have regained the weight....and more. I don't know of any past contestant who has gained back more weight than they lost on the show. Some contestants have gained back most of the weight, yes, including one of the prior season's winners, but there are others who've either kept the weight off or even lost more after leaving the show. Besides, as thyme4change pointed out, any weight loss program has tons of failures. I think it is by far the most positive reality show out there, and one of the few that I can watch without wanting to shoot my television.
