There are some great suggestions there.
I definitely feel the energy boost more on days when my workouts include intervals. I'm starting to get back into the strength training too, so hopefully I'll feel that boost soon.

I am not sure about the heavy weights. I built my (f) biceps so my blazers don't fit right and now I'm having trouble keeping them toned.
I saw a young 20s stick figure doing 110 lbs on the hip aductor/abductor machine and wondered what she was going to work up to.
First things in the morning that help are green tea, lemon juice in water, and/or cranberry juice. That's about one tablespoon full per glass of water for the lemon or cranberry.
Eating a few bites of protein first at a meal can boost your metabolism. Also, and not for everyone because of drug interactions, is grapefruit or grapefruit juice to start a meal.

I don't know if it's true, but I've also heard adding red pepper flakes to your food will kick your metabolism up a notch. It definitely adds flavor.

Not sure about the metabolism boosting effects, but spicier foods tend to result in you eating less, which is also good.

My Dad always put red pepper flakes on his dinner. He has always been skinny.
