A thread to discuss your favorite hobbies.

I love bowling and at my advanced age still do 3X per week and hold around 170 average. Keeps me occupied and within a social circle. Plus a little exercise to help keep fit.
Also, of course, interested in investing, which is slightly more serious, and do keep posting on the investment boards as well as administrate on SI.
Used to quite involved with Photography in younger years. But now it is just and ocassional snap or two.
Also had a large coin collection of US & Canadians, but sold it two years ago at auction. Main focus was on US Morgan silver dollars, had them all but the rare and very expensive 1893-95s.

I draw, paint, play the piano and make dolls & miniatures out of oven baked clay:





I also love estate sales/garage sales/flea markets because you never know what cool art supplies/future project materials you can find there ! ( I use a lot of salvaged/recycled materials in my artwork/hobbies).
Any miniaturists out there give a shout out.

I also really enjoy bowling and am on a league. For me is is more "social" then anything as I hold a wonderful 116 average.

I also run for fun. Anything from 5K's to 1/2 marathons.

Cross stiching keeps me occupied at home and I am trying to figure out if there is anything else, but that is it for now.

ps: My boyfriend is a coin collecter and likes radio controlled planes.

comokate ... got to give you credit where credit is due ... you have the artistic spirit and a heck of a lot of talent. Good going , girl. My late wife (d. 2004) was multi-talented, kind of into all things, but really a master of none. Kept her busy and content. Sometimes miss the coin collection; but, that is now just water under the bridge and down the stream.

We enjoy bird feeding and bird watching.
I enjoy photography.
I enjoy gardening.
And I really enjoy animals and animal rescue.
Oh, and I make really decorative salads!

Molly, LOVE your salad photo. Gosh, if you printed that picture twice, with your salad being about an inch in diameter, it would make the center of some really pretty earrings ! ( seriously, I can see them with some dangly bits hanging off the undersides))
It looks yummy and it's beautiful. I'm not the world's best cook...

heh heh heh ... I made that for a potluck in response to someone who said "You want to bring a salad? How creative" in a really sarcastic way. I just smiled ... and brought the world's prettiest salad. SO THERE! (grin)

Hobbies.. Does a 2 year old count as a hobby?

I play piano and I'm trying to teach myself accordion. Both are hard to do, though when my daughter insists on playing the piano whenever I sit down on the bench and she tells me "no daddy, no loud" when I play the accordion.

I drink. That reminds me.. A friend of mine told me the other day that he had a new hobby, craft beer. I said, "really? you are brewing beer now?" He said, " No I am drinking it". LOL

That's all I can think of.

There is a town in Michigan named "Frankenmueth" that has a lot of festivals with accordions...it's like a little 17th century German village where it is always "Christmas"....very pretty.

My family breeds, shows and trail rides Tennessee Walking Horses. Our life pretty much revolves around them I also do search and rescue with them and am member of a mounted patrol group.
