So far as I can tell, the only good thing about this heat wave is that we've been eating better. It's too hot to even grill, so we've been eating lots of fruit and salads. If this keeps up I won't feel embarrassed to walk around the neighborhood in my undies.

LOL! It would help if we had AC. I told DH that all I wanted was AC in our new house. Stupid me believed him and his friend when they said that a whole house fan is just as good. NOT!!!

It may require staying hydrated with $13 beers

I'm the DD, so only 1 $13 beer for me. I have a feeling I'll be shelling out $10 for water.

We're in WNY. Normally we need AC for a total of two weeks the entire year. ETA: And I fell in love with the floor plan and pocket doors. ;D

Air conditioning in the house and the car are a must for me.

My wardrobe from Thursday to Sunday consisted of boxers or going naked. 100 degrees and 90+% humidity sucks ASS.

Well, on the serious side.... we have lost 2 high school football players here in Ga. due to their training & heat! And one coach died somewhere too right after a practice! When are these idiots going to realize that football isn't worth risking lives for?

In the 70s my DH fb had 2 a days in the TX heat and that was before gatorade. He doesn't remember people dieing so easily from the heat. Few people had air conditioning then and it certainly wasn't at 72 degrees all the time. The a/c is the culprit in not being able to withstand the heat.
Doc, put a towel down if you're sittin' around in the buff.

That is part of it, however, if you really stop & think about it, what else has changed???
More processed foods More polution...air/water/soil Less outside activities Less self-propelled activities....walking/biking and I'm sure there are a lot more! Oh, and a big one...school didn't used to start until AFTER Labor Day and there were NO football camps prior to school starting! And it has become BIG BUSINESS for the school systems!
We are already in school down here!

True contributors, kadee66.
We now have a new scapegoat - the heat. Pile on the blame. I posted that snarky remark because "of the heat". I blerted out I wore a skirt so my thighs wouldn't sweat so much because "of the heat."
