I shall now pinpoint my age.......in 7th grade thru high school, I was a MAJOR fan of the gothic soap opera, "Dark Shadows". In my basement refuge, I had posters of Barnabas, Angelique, David & Amy, Quentin, Dr. Hoffman....maybe even Elizabeth Collins Stoddard played by the "name" Joan Bennett. When I heard a remake was in progress, and that Johnny Depp was playing Barnabas Collins, I thought "great casting!" Then I saw his picture with the clown white make-up. CLOWN WHITE??? Even if it does afford him daylight exposure without crisping, CLOWN WHITE??? He looks like Betel Juice's cousin!!!! Somebody shoot the director! And Tim Burton's wife (Helena Bonham Carter) as Dr. Hoffman?? She'd have made a great Angelique, the witch. Oh well. I'll probably pay to see it anyway................

sis & I watched Dark Shadows, even though mom told us we couldn't. Then we'd have to wait outside for mom to get home from work because we were scared there might be vampires in the house ;D

I tortured my sister with this show.
My little sister.
Just humming the music makes freaks her out.
BUT did anyone see the show after you were well - old enough to know better?
OMG, the sets were so cheesy.

I watched reruns of Dark Shadows. Does anyone remember about 15 years ago when they tried to bring it back as a prime time suspense/drama? It was on for one season. It ended with a huge cliff hanger and never came back. I was devastated.
