Vegas gives spreads not picks Uh huh and we were major underdogs just like we were in the Sugar and Fiesta bowls. Vegas doesn't always get it right. We've got a pretty collection of BCS trophies to prove it.

Both of these defenses suck as did the Packers, hell look at all the offensive records that were broken this year. Defense overall was very weak in the NFL this year. The Giants D has come on strong since Osi became healthy. Giants beat them already and won there way to the Bowl on the road yet they are still the dog in this matchup-I dint get it. Vegas knows something we don't or know the refs alot better. Yeah but the NFL rules committee et al have been tweaking/modifying/changing rules to make offenses more potent for what, 5-8 years now? And they're handicapping the defenses. So the offensive records that were broken isn't resting COMPLETELY on lousy defenses, just part of it.

Agreed. The sissy ass QB's hafta be protected. The game has most certainly changed, and for the worse in my opinion. But then again the sisssification of our country isn't just held the football field.

Here we go again. When people ask me who coaches the Raiders my eyes glaze over. Now let's hope they don't start moving the team around again. Could drive me to drink and/or smoking ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/wine.gif)

The only thing I read was "they" wanted to start fresh without Al Davis coach on sidelines. And now we have a former Donkey coach but I will give him the benefit of doubt but been doing that for years now. Lordy help us Raiders fans ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/1.gif)

Guess I need to watch the video. I've gotten to where I just don't pay much attention to who is coach anymore. Hell my attention span is zero since they change coaches more often than I change my pants ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/tongue2.png) Well, that may be a slight exaggeration ![](http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr155/susie-smileys/kleine%20smiley/th_103182.gif)

Sean Payton stunned by suspension: “I’m not OK” Posted by Michael David Smith on March 21, 2012, 1:28 PM EDT New Orleans Saints v Green Bay Packers Getty Images
Saints coach Sean Payton was shocked to find out today that he has been banished from the NFL for the entire 2012 season for his team’s bounty scandal.
Jay Glazer said on NFL Network that he interviewed Payton immediately after the news came down, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s punishment is far more severe than Payton was expecting.
“I did talk to him and he’s stunned to say the least,” Glazer said. “I think the entire team thought maybe there’d be a four-game suspension, but not a year. I said, ‘Are you OK?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m not OK.’ He is stunned. He’s going to lose about $8 million. He is beside himself here.”
Glazer reports that Payton’s plan for the four-game suspension he had braced himself for was to have assistant head coach/linebackers coach Joe Vitt take over as interim head coach while Payton served the suspension. But that plan is now out the window because Vitt has been suspended six games for his own role in the bounty scandal.
The Saints may now have either offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael or former Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo, who was slated to replace Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator, step in as the head coach.

Jets’ trade for Tebow hits a snag, could be voided, Rams may get him Posted by Michael David Smith on March 21, 2012, 3:26 PM EDT New York Jets v Denver Broncos Getty Images
Tim Tebow may not become a New York Jet after all.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos and the Jets have encountered a hangup in the language in Tebow’s contract that could nullify the trade. Schefter cites a Broncos source as saying the hangup could keep the trade from happening.
The contractual issue apparently arises from a clause in Tebow’s contract that could require the Jets to pay up to $5 million to the Broncos. The Jets may refuse to do that.
If this turns out to be a serious enough problem that the Tebow-to-Jets deal cannot be completed, then Tebow would go back on the market and the Broncos would try to find a new trading partner.
According to Schefter, the Rams may be that new trading partner, and Tebow could be shipped to St. Louis if the deal with the Jets falls apart. It’s not clear whether Tebow would prefer the Rams or Jets, or if he’ll have any say in the matter at all.
At the moment, the deal is Tebow and the Broncos’ seventh-round pick for the Jets’ fourth- and sixth-round picks. We don’t yet know what the Rams would be willing to give up for Tebow.

Re Sean Peyton's year-long suspension. From what I heard on Mike Francesca's show on YES, he got so long a suspension because he lied to the commissioner and tried to cover up the whole thing.

Dear God,
When I prayed for the Broncos to be better this season, this wasn't what I had in mind.
Signed,

I don't like the rule and I don't want it in regular season. ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) It takes away from the defense. If I wanted to watch high scoring football, I'd be watching arena football...

Really Raiders? You traded away the future for Carson Palmer and now you're looking at two new QBs?

Really Raiders? You traded away the future for Carson Palmer and now you're looking at two new QBs? Keep your eye on Rod Streater (WR), he was an integral part of Temple's successes over the past four years. I'm so excited for my Owls! Three player drafted and seven signed as rookie free agents. Best NFL draft in years!

Suspensions for Saints players were announced.
Four suspended for Saints’ bounty program, Vilma for all of 2012 Posted by Michael David Smith on May 2, 2012, 11:57 AM EDT vilma Getty Images
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has lowered the hammer on four New Orleans Saints players who were involved in the team’s bounty scandal, with Jonathan Vilma leading the way and getting one of the most significant suspensions in NFL history.
Vilma has been banished for all of 2012, effective immediately and through the Super Bowl, for his role in the bounty scandal. Vilma reportedly put $10,000 cash on the table in the team’s meeting room and said the cash would go to anyone who could knock Brett Favre out of the NFC Championship Game in January of 2010.
Anthony Hargrove, who’s now with the Packers, was given an eight-game suspension after the NFL said that he, too, targeted Favre in the NFC Championship Game. The NFL says that Hargrove eventually admitted his role in the team’s bounty program, but that at first “Hargrove also actively obstructed the league’s 2010 investigation into the program by being untruthful to investigators.”
Will Smith was suspended four games. The NFL says he worked with former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in setting up the bounty program.
Browns linebacker Scott Fujita is no longer in New Orleans, but he was given a three-game suspension for his role in the bounty program when he played for the team.
“It is the obligation of everyone, including the players on the field, to ensure that rules designed to promote player safety, fair play, and the integrity of the game are adhered to and effectively and consistently enforced,” Goodell said in the league’s statement. “Respect for the men that play the game starts with the way players conduct themselves with each other on the field.”
Goodell has said he believes players were not just participants at the behest of Williams, but were actively encouraging and celebrating the bounties. The NFL Players’ Association has signaled that it does not agree with Goodell’s assessment. Vilma, Hargrove, Smith and Fujita all have the right to appeal.
*-*-*-*- Apparently all 4 are planning on appealing.
