OK guys.. Think about this logically for a minute. there is no one with a grudge that would be able to plant a virus on a PROBOARD SERVER.
if anything, it is likely related to some advertisement.

Really, there's nothing new about this particular virus anyway. What's new is the toolkit for the user of the kit. Exploit is still Exploit and will be caught by computers that are protected as they should be. It's the package sold to the users that's different. As moonbeam said, this thing is probably piggy-backing on one of the advertisements. If ProBoards is notified, they can probably identify and eliminate the problem.

If I may interject: it is possible that one of the ad codelets being served up by Proboards is vulnerable to an XSS attack. That being said: - the worst an XSS attack can do is direct you to another website or log your keystrokes while you're viewing the ad. So... you know... don't type in your credit card number.
- 99 times out of 100 (or maybe I should make that 999 times out of 1,000), these things are FALSE ALARMS. Malware detectors like to go apewild detecting totally benign code giblets and putting up big red flashing signs to let you know that they're "doing something".
Thank you for your time. Have a pleasant afternoon.

Heh. No kidding, Virgil! At one time, I used McAfee. McAfee found a virus! Oh, horrors. Even better, the virus was in ... McAfee, but only McAfee saw it! Fortunately, we've come a long way since then, and most virus protection software is pretty darned good at keeping the nasties out if you're reasonably vigilant. That's the only "virus" I've ever had on my computers, and that one was a figment of McAfee's imagination.

I have no idea what you are talking about "I called you out on your lack of facts the other day" Maybe you should remind me of the facts you speak of, or are you just another hack on the attack.

I'll take a pass on beating the dead "bailout" horse thank you. After all, it isn't likely that we'll be able to discuss such things intelligently given your lack of the basic tools......
