Good, Bad, Ugly, any information would be awesome.
Normally we don't buy Chevys, but we seriously cannot deal with the piece of shit that is his Jeep Commander anymore. Just had it into the dealership again and they can't figure out what is wrong with it.....So it needs to go.
We need something with the 3rd row seat. We have a buttload of kids. We do NOT want a minivan...So we are thinking the Traverse. What say all of you?

We test drove the traverse. I liked it, but then we test drove the Honda Pilot and there was so, so, so, so, so much more room in the 3rd row seat and we could get more for our money (and we are honda people) so we went with the Honda. We've had it about 5 or 6 months and love it. Had we not bought the Honda, I think the Traverse was probably the first car we would have revisited. The other super-big square SUVs were a lot more money ($10k more +) and most of the other rounded back ones were so small in the 3rd seat - only kids would fit back there. Yes, we could put kids there now - but kids grow!
So, that's my take on it.

Thanks Thyme. We ended up buying the 2011 Traverse. Goose looked at the Honda's but the Traverse looked bigger to us and the Specs actually says it is bigger than the HOnda. We are HOnda people too Thyme and it was a hard call for him. When I trade my 2003 Honda Odyssey in I am 95% positive I will get the Pilot. TD-

You are correct that the interior is bigger, but the 3rd row seat is smaller. You will have more storage space and less butt space and less headroom in the 3rd row. That will be helpful depending on what you need. There are times we need a larger 3rd row, but we are coming up on a trip and I told everyone they can only bring a pair of underpants and a toothbrush. We have very little cargo space when the 3rd row is utilized.
Congrats on your new car - enjoy it! You made a great purchase.

I really like it...unfortunately I have a hard time seeing over the steering wheel. Or out the back windows. POM says I need a booster seat. I have been wanting to trade my van in for a long time. Unfortunately his Jeep wanted to be a demon possessed piece of crap so we had to get rid of it. The van still is just fine with 141K on it. I will probably keep it another year or 2 before trading it in. I do really like the Pilot and it is my first choice as my future car. I also like the Buick Enclave but I do not know a lot about them.

Angel, I don't know if you're gonna laugh or cry when you read this, but..... back when my Mom used to drive, (she's quite "vertically challenged") it was actually printed on her driver's license that she had to sit on a pillow while driving! If you can't adjust the seat to the proper height, maybe give that a try?!?

Does the steering wheel adjust? I drive a Tahoe and have no issues seeing over the steering wheel, but I also adjust it downward, and raise the seat upward.
