Is there even one person in Washington that is not corrupt. I'd be that there is not.

Is there even one person in Washington that is not corrupt. I'd be that there is not. Nope...not even the judges. I believe the max prison sentence is 14 years and the average is around 6. Delay gets 3. He'll most likely get sent to a day spa like prison and will likely get out in 6 months with good behavior.

Maybe some others will get the message. Rightly or wrongly he always struck me as an arrogant type. He found out he was not above the law.

I am always torn by something like this. While I would love to see the Tom Delay's of the world get the maximum sentence and have them spend those years in a maximum security prison, I do not want to pay to house and food the Tom Delay's of the the world for the maximum sentence in a maximum security prison.

Simple : Take away his government pension and benefits to pay for it.

I believe he also got 10 years probation, but he will not serve anytime in the near future because of appeals.
I would have like to see some community service, real community service like picking up trash on the highway.

DeLay's appeal could take another year or two so in the meantime he is free with a $10,000.00 bail and will go on Fox News and claim his innocence ad nauseum. However if one of us were convicted of conspiriacy for money laundering we would be locked up and the key would be thrown away. He was found guilty by jury of his peers but DeLay doesn't recognize our legal system...and why should he?? Afterall he was a congressional whip and has to be given special consideration that we don't have

I don't understand why he is free while his attorneys are appealing the sentence. O. J., don't misundertand, useing as a example only, after found guilty, is serving his time, appeals are in the process. What is the difference?

Why he is free? Because he is one of them!
