Our community is already pretty small, fracturing it even further with a bunch of sub boards doesn't sound like a great idea. I can see the adult conversation board I guess. The travel and automotive one though? Really? We needed a whole separate board for one thread?

You have your play ground that you can go to without weeding through a bunch of post, I see nothing wrong with other sub boards. In fact I like it

The threads in the sub boards show up on the main boards anyway, so it is not like you are missing out on threads if you don't go to the sub boards.

The threads in the sub boards show up on the main boards anyway Oh, I didn't realize that. Good, then ignore me. I'm just going to pretend they don't exist.

Yeah, I am not 100% sure the purpose of the subboards. I guys if you don't want to read the other stuff you can go right to the subboard, but if you don't care then those posts show up anyway. So actually they seem pretty good.

I have "expand subboard" set as "Yes" and it says ' If you wish to have all sub-board's posts display in the parent board, select "Yes."

exactly. you can see if a 'last post' was made on a sub board, but you don't see the thread itself unless you go TO that sub-board to look for it.

Umm... yeah. So if you go into your profile there's an option down near the bottom that says something like show sub board posts in the parent board. So I set that to yes so I could see the sub board threads without having to go into the sub boards themselves. It shows all the password protected adult conversation threads in the main board. No password needed.

Just be careful. You have to open the thread to see what sub board it belongs too. I could totally see myself saying something inappropriate in response to a thread without realizing it's part of the adults only board.
