BDTD = been there done that with a typo. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/shucks2.png) Ah. Sounds like your ex was what is known as a functioning alcoholic.... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Iggy: Awww, you too? Sorry....back at you... ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/1-2.gif) My ex-Brit neighbor was the same, self-made millionaire who was a roaring alcoholic, who told me stories you wouldn't believe. He went into de-tox 3 times at $30,000 a pop in England so in pounds. He was dry after the 3rd time for 10 years, fell off the wagon in Bangkok and it finally killed him. He was actually a dear friend to me for six years and still miss his sense of humor. k to you my new anonymous note friend...lol.... ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/button29934414.png)

Grow your own dope.....plant a man ------------------------- The first time I saw that bumper sticker, I was just roaring with laughter. I even left the woman a note under her windshield wiper, thanking her.

Rehydrating should occur over a protracted period. Replenishing electrolytes is important too. If you just chug a gallon of water before passing out, you'll wake up hung over and with a full bladder. Actually, you will wake up with wet pants ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

We don't drink to excess very often, but I do think it's hilarious to remind dh that he fell off his bar stool in front of his boss at last year's Christmas party ;D

Occasional drinker here. A few sips of beer or a half-glass of wine with dinner once a week. I actually collect wine, which makes my limited intake kind of strange.
The issue is mixing drugs and alcohol. No, I'm not recommending it. I take an anti-seizure drug that doesn't mix well with alcohol. Doctor says a small amount of drink is fine, provided there is time between the drink and the drug dosage.

Aw, IG...I mean mixing my drugs and alcohol. I would never stop anyone else from whatever cocktail creations they can come up with. And I know you folks have the means and the imagination. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

There was a farmer named Lear, who owned a fine cow that gave beer. Budweiser or Schlitz, could be tapped from her teats, and pretzels came out of the rear.

Same with me. I take the anti-seizure med Inderal, which means limiting my alcohol consumption. I take the meds in the morning, but I still won't take chances by over-indulging with the booze, even if it is 10 or 12 hrs later.

Indifferent abstainer.
Have alcoholics on both sides of the family so don't necessarily find drunks funny as much as pathetic.
But except for beer, I will have a drink upon occasion. But it doesn't really do anything for me either (high tolerance - at least I used to have; haven't tested it in years.) Like single malts, some wines, some mixed.

I drink, but I rarely get passed out drunk. I will get tipsy now and then, but rarely go beyond that. I do drink several times a week, but usually no more than a beer or a glass of wine a night. Last night I did have 1 bloody mary and 1 beer and that was it.

Joker I think. I don't think drunks are always funny though they can be but they can also be mean or just plain sad drunks. I'd have to think the last time I got drunk and frankly, I hope it's the last time. I don't mind feeling good but hugging the toilet drunk, no thanks. First time I got drunk was on rum and I still can't drink that stuff. the last time I was "drunk", as in there are parts of that night (most of it) that I don't remember at all....was my 25th bday....and I got knocked up.... OMG Stef, I know this isn't funny but it is funny at the same time. I can see it now the morning after "underwear, check. Bra, check, Pants, check. Fertilized egg, check" ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

You'll forgive me a bold question (and feel free to say "too bold"), but is DS/DD 'OK' with the circumstances of his/her conception? I read somewhere that parents aren't supposed to come forward with this kind of information, but I think it was Dr. Phil who was saying "get it out in the open".

I'd like to think that the circumstances of my conception wouldn't matter to me. But I had a very uneventful childhood, conflict-with-parent-wise.
I wonder: if a parent/child relationship is under stress, is the situation exacerbated by the child knowing he/she was originally a "mistake"?

The kid should put it under the category of the ONE intelligent thing parent did while drunk.
(No, Steff, not you. Thinking of family members.)

I read somewhere that parents aren't supposed to come forward with this kind of information, but I think it was Dr. Phil who was saying "get it out in the open". Well, when my kiddo was little, no it wasn't something that we sat him down and said "now dear, we had crazy monkey swinging from the light fixture sex in a hotel room on mom's 25th birthday and Surprise! you were the ultimate birthday gift" He's 17 now and I'm sure he's heard me and hubby joke around about "steff doesn't like to get drunk because she gets knocked up".... I know kiddo has done the math and knows we were 2 months short on that "wedding day to his birthday" calendar.....hubby & I have joked about being married almost 18 years now and that's pretty damn good for a shotgun wedding. We don't live in prudeville where these things are pearl clutch moments. And seriously, do folks really get wigged out over the way they were "conceived"? Is it supposed to have permanently scarred my kiddo because we got knocked up during a drunken bday night? I did marry his daddy and we planned on getting married before we found out we got knocked up.

I am pretty sure I was drunk the night my first son was conceived. If my calculations are correct...then it was the night of the big college Halloween party. My ex and I were drunk. He was dressed as a woman and I was dressed as a dominatrix. ;D
