Charlie's! Every day at some point she suddenly starts whipping around the house like a bat out of hell. She'll run as fast as she can, suddenly stop, suddenly start again. It's like she has a certain track she has to run. This lasts approximately 10 minutes. Then she hits her spot and lays down flat and goes to sleep. She is WEIRD!!! I take her out to pee but I don't really walk her outside yet cause the vet said not to until her round of shots is done. I guess she has figured out her excercise routine.

you can still play fetch with her in the house for exercise.
our two have a path they chase either around when the weather is bad...living room to dining area to kitchen to foyer, round and round until they get tired.
maybe Charlie needs a little brother or sister

Good for her Sam, mine still do the same thing even though they are outside frequently.
Angel, try up and down the stairs.

Lol, my dog does this, but she's about 55/60 pounds and her track includes jumping on the couch then back off. The couch is leather/easy to clean, so I don't care, but if you are in her path, watch out! She's a ball of all muscle so that weight is compact.

My Sophie (kitty) does that. She will just start tearing around the house and literally bounces off the walls - all four feet! But now she is so fat the house rattles when she does. It sounds like she's galloping instead of pitter pattering. LOL!!!

I do play fetch with her. She has a tennis ball, and a teddy bear and the pom poms she chewed off a pair of my slippers. I like to throw one of them on top of another and watch her try to bring both back at once. She has figured out that she has room for a bit of the arm of the teddy and the string on the pom pom, hasn't got a plan for the others yet ;D

Harpo is stretched out on me which is making typing difficult. At some point it is like something startles him and he bails off me and goes off to find another place to snooze.

"Jake" does that all the time .... and I have hardwood laminate floors, so skidding while he's making a sharp turn usually lands him smack into a wall or piece of furniture.

It is called "Frap" - frantic random acts (of) play.

I'd talk about our pet gecko, but we ran him over with the golf cart. How would I know he was scooting around the garage floor?

Awww, I had geckos in the house when I lived in both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. I thought they were cute and they helped keep the bugs down.

I was about to name him when I found his flattened carcass.

Poor Gecko. My brother backed over his Labrador's tail one day with his pickup. No damage but that Lab headed for the porch everytime someone started a car to the day he died.

My cat does that too - only not as much as when he was younger; he's 16 now and sleeps most of the day, but he's gotten more active since we put him on Cosequin at the vet's recommendation.
