Rick, et al. I have a heart condition, which sometimes requires me NOT to wear a seat belt. For example, when I get a stent implanted, the doc says no seatbelts for 2 weeks. The shoulder harness could dislodge the stent. I also have plaque that breaks from trauma - rare condition. Consequently, there are many times I shouldn't wear my seat belt. Since I fit into most bigger cars, with a shoehorn and lots of grease, I don't see this as a big problem. Any ideas on disconnecting the bell in a 2012 Kia Sorento? This is the first car that doesn't tell you how to do that.

Drats! They used to come with codes, like plug in 3 times, turn on radio, plug in 2 times, turn on windshield wipers, and plug in 3 more times. Last thing I need is chest pains with that dang bell going off.

doesn't it turn off after a little while? my mom never wears her belt, and I'm pretty sure that her car will give up trying to alert her to the fact that her belt isn't fastened.

Buckle the belt and then sit on it. If you're a weenie, you can put a folded towel over the buckle to pad your rump, I suppose. Better yet... don't be driving a KIA. It's not suited to you and all that weight in the driver's seat can't be doind the flimsy thing any good. You wouldn't want to put an exquisitely-grilled rib-eye on a paper plate and use a plastic fork and knife on it, would you? There you go.

Anti, the Kia is much better than the US models. Also, it was made in West Point, Ga and most importantly, I fit!

So... have you solved your little problem yet? Were you able to put it behind you?

Rick, I found out there is a connection under the seat. Rumor has it that it also disconnects the airbag, but I cannot confirm that until I crash!
