Now we have two countries he refuses oil from.
I see he is really interested in an energy program for the U.S. He is shooting for no imports!
Attention American consumer and lower and middle class. Bend over far enough, and watch it coming at you.

The Muslim Brotherhood is calling Obama "the bulldozer". It seems his full time job is making a path for them in the Middle East...

... Priorities, priorities....... Among the specific atrocities mentioned in the report are:
•the alleged execution of 26 blindfolded men at a football stadium in the southern city of Daraa on May 1; •indiscriminate firing of live ammunition at peaceful demonstrators using snipers and helicopters, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people including women and children; •and the killing of injured protesters in hospitals — including by locking people in morgue refrigerators alive. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44185674/ns/world_news-mideast_n_africa/ Shall we go for $5.00 gasoline by Labor Day?

Well don't worry, once Obama clears the path for the Muslim Brotherhood to govern Syria, you won't hear about any of that stuff anymore...LOL!

(and I do know that Iraq is not yet governed religious fanatics - yet) President Obama has not learned a damn thing from Bush. Libya is a sad joke, and now he is sticking his nose in Syria, but alas, not a mention of Iran. Not that I want him to. It is just if you are going to meddle in Middle East politics, go after the bleeding ulcer and leave everything else alone.

The President seems to be making a major political blunder. He cannot solve the financial and political turmoil at home, so he has decided to ride the political horse, of world's statesman. It is not going to work out well for him, on the short term basis, or the backward look, of longterm history fifty years from now.

Just as one should not frequent a business that engages in practices of which one disapproves nor contribute time/money to candidates supporting policy positions one does not support, nation to nation sanctions are a reasonable way to voice disapproval.

Hasnt focusing on foreign problems or crisis always been used by countires with domestic problems at home? Nothing like a good crisis to divert attention?

Tennesseer, I get what you are saying, and I really wondered about Syria's oil capacity. So Obama is actually just making an empty jesture wiith the embargo. That is even worse, imo.

Shall we go for $5.00 gasoline by Labor Day? oil was down 5% today. Yes it was. The reason? European banks collapsing faster than a Domino in a domino tipping contest. Europe is economically imploding, hence the speculators are selling oil.

Yes I do object to his taking a stand on Assad, if that stand hurts the lower income citizens here through higher energy prices.

Obama's stand on Assad is more political gamesmanship...Our European Allies have been pressuring Obama to take a stand and join them to ask Assad to step down...so since Obama is probably sleepless on Martha's Vineyard he finally decided to join with European Leaders for Syrian President Bashar Assad to resign yesterday. And of course there is those late night calls agan to Hillary asking her what he should do..

Even a minor supplier will affect the price of oil. Now that the price of energy is moving down for a few weeks, the price upswing for the last three months caused by civil war in Libya (another minor supplier) is all but forgotten. I bet Obama is also counting on short memories come 2012

With the demand in the world..China, Japan, emerging countries ..our own demand..of course it will keep going up, not counting a occasional dip due to what ever..deal with it , it is what it will be..spend some $ on alternate energy might help but the push is not here...yet..some day..to blame on any administration, just silly ..they have no influence beyond tapping the stratigic reserve for a while.. To blame administration, just another blame the administration..why not, everything else is that problem but in reality..nope.

Just Obama saying "Assad should step down" is enough to start yet more speculative futures buying due to the "potential" supply disruption. That is how an administration can affect energy prices. Doesn't really matter which way he's blamed, directly or indirectly. I feel that so far, one of his biggest shortcomings, is the inability to see the unintended consequences of his domestic or foreign policies.

It doesn't matter which parties president is in office at the time, the result of interfering in an oil producing nation or potentially interfering usually drives up oil futures price. Negative statements from me about Obama not registering with you will not affect energy prices. Barring any unexpected disasters or OPEC maneuvers, oil prices will continue to fall for the near term due to the slowing world economy. Expect gas prices to continue to fall with it. The sky isn't falling but if the worlds economy recovers into improved growth, expect energy prices to grow with it.
