SPXU long (3x short S&P)
I think there's going to be a lot of serious selling next week. No position in this right now, but I do have QID which is 2x short the NDX and DXD which is 2x short the Dow Ind. Might well be picking up some leveraged short positions Monday morning. Probably should have kept my SRTY, but didn't want to go away today and leave it without shepherd and sheep dog attention. There are wolves about.

(Actually, SBS, I did clean stalls last week. Didn't do a bit of good other than confuse the horses. They like to contribute to one corner of the stall. Now that it's all flat, they have to pick a new corner.) I took some of the manure to a rental house to start a flower bed. When life gives you lemons... or in this case, road apples...

T long (AT&T - Communications Services)
I can't see the down grade of US debt as being a long term factor in US equity markets. Short term it looks like about everything will gap down Monday morning. The smart thing would probably be to sit out this week but I'll try a safety play. T traded under 22 during the final crisis and is currently at 28.95. I would likely be willing to buy well before it hit 22.

FTR, short should do it for me this week. Frontier Communications, a landline telephone company, who has been steadily dropping since buying some assets from Verizon. With fake credit crisis pushing prices down this week, this should do well.

closed Friday at $13.72. 52wk. high/low is $19.23/$4.92. Based in Minneapolis, Minn.
2,165 employees. Now I'll see if the old dart board/dart system works.. & if I got on
the wrong side of the fence....surely rovo will let me switch this to a long about mid-week. LOL
I seriously considered just skipping a selection for this week.

rovo, of course, it's your decision on what goes into the record to start the week.,
but Bigcharts & Scottrade gave very slightly diff. numbers on 2 issues.
FTR $6.53 & AAPL $36l.69
but I think the horses could care less.................. LOL

Man, there goes that TVIX again -- straight out of the gate. Oh well, at least I've got a bet on it this week, though in the real-money port I couldn't climb on until it was already up about 15%.
The more I think about this one, the more comfortable I get with it for a short-term play. I don't have to care much which way the market goes, my only concern is that it flail about like a madman. That seems like a pretty safe bet right now -- fear is stronger than greed.

architecto25, I saw the difference in AAPL earlier today. I went for the higher price in my pick to avoid any problems. Often the different reporters will align the numbers before the day ends. I'll check both picks later in the day and make adjustments as required.
