I love old movies. I'm a huge Cary Grant fan.
I'm stuck at work tonight and my MIL is babysitting. I DVR'd "Random Harvest" the other day. (Ronald Colman, Greer Garson, 1942) It's one of my favorites. She's never seen it. She should be watching it as I type.
Some of my other favorite classics are "Bringing Up Baby," "Arsenic & Old Lace," "The Canterville Ghost," and "The Children's Hour."
What are some of your favorite classics?

I love Greer Garson. She was SOOOO beautiful. Random Harvest is a great movie. Have you seen Blossoms in the Dust? Another really good movie of hers.
I'm addicted to TCM! This is my second favorite time of the year for TCM...Summer Under the Stars. 31 Days of Oscar is my favorite.
I love John Garfield, Claude Rains, Cary Grant, Bogart, Edward G Robinson, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Rita Hayworth, Hepburn & Tracy, Powell & Loy...so many!
Joan Crawford fascinates me. She was absolutely beautiful when she was younger, and just got so harsh looking as she aged.
Swing Time and Holiday Inn are my favorite musicals.

I just told DH last night that if we have another girl I like the name Greer. He looked at me like I was nuts. I was watching "His Girl Friday."

I love Pride and Prejudice. I've read the book, and I've seen several movie versions, but never the Greer Garson one. I'll look for it. My favorite film version of Pride and Prejudice was a television miniseries, made either by PBS or the BBC, in 1995. Colin Firth was in it.

I've seen that one too! I think that PBS version is closest to the book.

Colin Firth is THE Mr. Darcy.
"Rebecca" is one of my all time favorites, or "Roman Holiday," or "To Kill a Mockingbird," or "The Quiet Man," or...the list goes on and on.

our church is having a family movie night tonight. The movie they picked...The Ghost and Mr. Chicken I didn't even like that one when I was a kid! Barney Fife - yes. I'm a big fan. Don Knotts movies - nope. Mom wanted me to come down for the movie. I told her I didn't see any point in driving 30 min to see a movie I wouldn't watch at home! I'll have to go thru my move collection and see what I have they might like for a family movie.

Chiver - Why did you bring up musicals? My list is way too long for that category starting from Naughty Marietta to The Slipper and the Rose and I'm excluding Disney movies.

I'm still freaked out by the "shears in the throat."

The above mentioned movies are great! Don't forget John Wayne! His movies are still great after all these years! There's a lot of good musicals too. I love the classics, like Oklahoma!
