Just wanting to see how many military women we have here...someone to relate to and going through similar things as myself while serving our country. You could be wife or the actual person that is enlisted/officer

Lisa-- of course! If we can get enougb people, you'd get advice for her I think we need a board because military has different things they go through than civilians and I think the support and advice would be great Right now in trying to figure out, after my debt is paid, to have a 1,3, or 6 month Ef since we live on base housng BTW I'm enlisted air force and sh is enlisted air force reserve

TWINMOM advise for her would be a great help, there are days i just feel so helpless for her. i'm trying to get a laptop for her so she can skype with him, as for now they text when they can, but she misses him terribly. it doesn't help that she will ask him what he's doing and he just can't tell her.

My dh was in active duty af and deployed 6 mos after we gy married and he went to a pretty bad place...my advice is to find other spouses and such from his unit that also went so they hVe a support group. Skype would one of the best thibgs for him to keep his morale up.
She needs to keep faith and realize that yes it stinks that he can't tell her where they are at but its for his protection because anyone could be listening..also it protects her as well...deployments are very hard but if she keeps hope and keeps her mind busy,it will help the days to go by faster for herfoodYes

I, too, am Active Duty AF--15 years and counting. Can 2016 get here any faster? Anyhow, on the subject of a fully funded EF, I would suggest a minimum of 3 months just because our jobs are a bit more secure than in the civilian sector...not much but a bit, for sure. Also, for anyone is who deployed or will be deployed, you absolutely need to check out the Savings Deposit Program. This plan allows servicemembers in a combat zone to contribute all or part of their pay--up to $10,000/deployment--in a special savings account that has a guaranteed 10% annual interest rate. www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/payentitlements/sdp.html

Not monetarily related but definitely military related. I ask that you help support the movement www.notinvisible.orgAs a survivor of sexual assault (while in the military), it pisses me off that the powers that be have deemed s.a. as an occupational hazard.
