I found a box of non-dairy brownie mix in the back of the pantry yesterday... I wasn't sure that I'd have any batter to bake because I just couldn't stop...

Brownies!! That's what I'll have for lunch today! ;D
Seriously, I may need it after a morning of helping my mom clean out a storage unit. :S

I'm posting as a non-mod right now - bear with me. This is not the old place. Almost everyone has welcomed the fact that it isn't. It's been said already, but I'll repeat it. Just because there's a thread started, doesn't mean you have to participate on it. There's others to choose from or start a new discussion yourself if there's something you think would draw some different viewpoints or be fun. And not everyone has the same opinion of what's 'acceptable material'. But use common sense and good judgement before starting a thread and ask yourself first if there's a chance it might be pushing the envelope.
But if the majority of people are not having a problem with it and it hasn't violated the C of C, don't demand that it be shut down just because you don't agree with the content. And if you feel that a thread is turning into an argument, or stretching the boundaries, send a PM to one of the moderators and air your grievance privately so it can be checked out, instead of complaining openly on the thread where it's bound to turn into an argument.

I agree completely Lassie. I couldn't care less if it got locked, I am sick of the constant same old same old bitching over things one person doesn't like. DON'T READ IT!! It's not rocket science. Anyway, I'm over it, said what I had to say and I'm now focused on brownies. ;D

I love it when panties get in a wad about a thread. Reminds me of when I was a kid and was told not to read certain books cause they were "dirty" Hey, it was the 50's LOL Just made me want to read it that much more - same in my old age Now I just read online!! If you don't like what is on a thread move on to another one. It isn't brain surgery. Is someone holding a gun to your head and making you read it? Hello No Name good to see / read you (are) here. I see it like the bill boards in NY - the Calvin Klein underwear ads. Most NYers didn't care. Then media gets involved causing attention to the billboard. Now people are "discussed to see it" and "it's too racy" - Pleasseee! LOL – I read all 6 pages of the locked thread and it is soo entertaining! But at the same time I can see the one or two people getting upset and making enough of a complaint and then it gets locked. The MSN boards were….not boring but not too interesting. I wouldn’t check in for weeks not miss anything. Like the soaps “All My Children” and "General Hospital”. Haven’t watched them in years but I bet I can catch up in about a week. BUT HERE oh Shit! I’m in!

I knew it was borderline and thought it was funny. Did I expect complaints, you bet. I half expected TaxMan to get banned but knew we had different mods so thought at worse, it'd get locked or deleted. I read all of it this morning and it never got so bad I thought it needed locking but I have different standards than LOTS of other people. I'm quite aware of that. What annoys me is hearing for the 15th time that Later doesn't fit in here and she's leaving. Go already, what's stopping you? I didn't jump on the come back bandwagon for MU or Pig and I'm not doing it for her either. If you want to stay then do like the rest of us and accept that you won't like everyone and you don't have to read what they post if you don't want to. I guess i might as well chime in too. I didn't mind that J locked it, I actually emailed him and told him that i kind of expected. it fun while it lasted. I'm glad we don't have the MSN restrictions or moderators over here. it's only a message board (and a silly one at that) - not life and death stuff we're debating here. I would be happy if the people who kept threatening to leave actaully left And thank you J and SL for your reasonableness.

My Boyfriend is coming over today and cookies make him happy It is a **little** more work, but he will appreciate it. I don't make cookies often because I end up eating too many, but he will gladly take some home with him. I think I am making homemade chicken pot pie too. Ahhh, time to get to work cooking! I Saturday's.

Very glad you posted the poll TaxMan, I so agree with you – page 2 I thought OH this is why it got locked, but then page 3 I learned a new term- page 4 I thought OH this is another reason it got locked – then by page 6 I’m like dam it got locked – some people just want the attention that they are leaving (excluding MU). Pay attention to meeee LOL

Good morning all. I guess I was a co-conspirator yesterday too, and I just finished reading the rest of the posts after I had logged out. I read that the mods had received a few PM's objecting to the thread, so it was not due to the complaints of one person that it was locked. Having said that, I don't think what we did was all that bad. People mention did we cross the line. Which line? The COC, which isn't all that detailed in the first place? Obscenity? I don't think we did that. It was some adult themed humor, but to me, there was nothing graphic or obscene about it. It the long run, it's all a matter of taste. Some thought it was a riot, some were upset about it, and some could care less one way or another. I think it's great that we have a board like this. We can run the full course; from the ridiculous to the serious, and do it all well IMHO. If someone ever post something truly obscene or insulting, I'll be the first to complain. I don't think this is the proper place for it. I am big on humor though, and have no problems ever in participating in threads like the one that was locked in the future. My only recommendation to those who did not like the thread is the same as others have said; no one is forcing you to read it. There are other threads you can go to. I think if we keep our wits about all this, this board can and will thrive. Things are not a strict as on MSN, but that's what the majority of the members wanted I believe. We do have to make sure not to abuse the freedom we now have. Sermon over. We can go back to our frivolities now. Thanks.
