Centre Georges Pompidou
Also known as the Pompidou Centre in English- is a complex in the Beaubourg area of the 4th arrondissement of Paris, near Les Halles, rue Montorgueil and the Marais. It was designed in the style of high-tech architecture.
It houses the Bibliothèque publique d'information, a vast public library, the Musée National d'Art Moderne which is the largest museum for modern art in Europe.
It is named after Georges Pompidou, the President of France from 1969 to 1974 who decided its creation, and was officially opened on 31 January 1977

Musée National d'Art Moderne
Not to be confused with Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
National Museum of Modern Art is the national museum for modern art of France. It is located in Paris and is housed in the Centre Pompidou in the 4th arrondissement of the city. Created in 1947 it was then housed in the Palais de Tokyo and moved to its current location in 1977. The museum has the second largest collection of modern and contemporary art in the world, after the MOMA in New York, with nearly 60,000 works of art

The Paracas National Reservation is located in Ica, Peru and consists of the Paracas Peninsula. It includes Bahía de la Indepéncia (Independence Bay) and miles of coastal waters. Its main purpose is to preserve the marine ecosystem and protect the historical cultural heritage related to ancient indigenous peoples, mostly of the Paracas culture. The only marine reserve in Peru, it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its significance.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site is a place (such as a forest, mountain, lake, desert, monument, building, complex, or city) that is listed by the UNESCO as of special cultural or physical significance.
Nominated sites must be of "outstanding universal value" and meet at least one of the ten criteria. The USA has 21 sites.

Deb, You did not say a thing about the d'Orsay.. Where you can see both Manet and Monet under the same roof.. So here is to the famous Collourest.. Monet.. From the Claude Monet, The Waterlily Pond, 1897 Also I have seen a very nice small setting for Monet's work at.. Musée Marmottan Monet - Paris - France My GF got upset with me over my OCD on his detailed use of dried paints and bright collours.. his lose of sight made him use more intense collours to see them.. great results... The lady there were laughing at us.. One of them asked in French how long we had been married. My GF told them " This is our first Big Date.. We went to Paris, Fr..".. My GF spoke perfect French and had a Masters from the number one art school in the world.. Sorbonne' Attachments:
