I think I do foolish things regarding men LOL. I was married for 17 years though and not all of them were bad, but if hind sight was 20/20 I would have made a better decision.

I'm pretty sure you already met the one worth reconsidering for Rick. Now don't screw it up!! Suz I meant after so many divorces I'd be wondering what I was doing wrong. I know lot of variables but that's just my thinking I'd be blaming me or my picking skills or lack thereof lol. 30 Years can be a wonderful wait

6 weeks?!? DAM! That was quick work! But at least you came to your senses! It was nice feeling wanted and needed, but that isn't a reason to get married

people can change together.
some people are OK with with change as long they are not there when it happens.

I think the problem with change is when one wants you to change and you don't want to change. For example - I find that I am a little bit of a homebody - I love being at home, cooking, cleaning, and doing small projects around the house. I just don't see myself as the type to go out to the clubs every night or whatever. Does that mean I will never do it - of course not - but if given a choice I would prefer to be at home. My mate would have to be similarly situated in life and not want to change me into a party animal As for the sense of humor what I meant was - I can be quite sarcastic, but never mean. It takes someone to understand my sense of humor

< It stops aging once it's out of the barrel. And I got this bottle for $320 > Damn, that's an expensive bottle of scotch. If in instead of a bottle of 30 year old scotch, how about 2 bottles of 15 year old scotch, does that work out the same?

Considering that bottle normally costs $900-1000, $320 was an amazing deal.

At least part of the reason that the older scotches are expensive (other than what the market will bear) is that as Scotch ages in the barrels, some of it is lost through evaporation. There's got to be a fair bit of evaporation over 30 years. Sort of like making ice wines, you make a lot less ice wine from a batch of grapes than if you had made conventional wine out of those grapes earlier in the season.

Absolutely. Plus of course the storage costs of keeping those barrels for so long.

True. and the time deferred value of that upfront 'investment'. If Phil was here, he could tell us what the value of that money would have been over those 30 years when invested at 12%

You are paying for time when you buy that aged stuff. Takes a long time for the 100 yr Grand Marnier to be ready

I had some sandleman port (tawny) for my after dinner drink. I've been to Sandeman, in Jerez. Still have one last bottle of Fino tucked away for a special occasion!
