On Jan 2nd our furnace decided to burn up a connection. Two days with no heat and it was down in the 50s in the house.... Got that fixed. Next day DH went to go to town and the battery was dead in our Blazer. Jumped the Blazer, went to get the car and drove it to town. In town the car overheats and we now have a major coolant leak. (Probably water pump or head gasket.) We have literally had 6 days of the new year and already have spent a small fortune that we didn't have.... Happy new year to us... Looks like a continuation of 2010 so far...

Sorry mtshasta - We haven't started out very well either. Had to get a new battery for my vehicle and now I need a new headlight. DH has been to the dr. 2 times this week and now needs to have a scope. Hope your new year gets better.

Thanks for the well wishes.
It's just amazing to me how many things can go wrong in one life... And, apparently I am supposed to pull the money out of the air to pay for them. This was finally the month that we were going to be "caught up" and actually starting to attack the "it has to wait" list.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have been having car issues too...looks like it is only the battery.
You have written about your extremely limited budget in the past. So if you don't mind my asking how did you get the $$ to fix the furnace - did you finance it or did you rob peter to pay Paul?
Good Luck to you.
