I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew too. It's okay, but I'm not sure it was worth the money. It doesn't make the coffee hot enough, and the grinder is a b!tch to clean.
I love Starbucks. I used to always get the exact same drink, but lately I've been varying it. And I do get the skinny vanilla lattes from time to time. I don't get why people would be offended by that. It's a lot easier than asking for fat-free, sugar-free, etc.

Yeah. It is a pain in the butt to clean. I pretty much only use mine on weekends (when I have time to clean the dyam coffee grinder part). I hate to leave anything dirty in the sink (I think I have OCD), so that's the reason I have the older model and it works pretty good.

These anti-skinny soap-boxer loudmouths sound FAT. The funny thing is that the term "skinny" has been used in coffeehouse for years (at least on the west coast). No one raised a fuss until Starbucks started using it. I've been on the West Coast and it seems to me the people are in general more health concious than anywhere else in the country. Yeah we have our share of anorexic yoga instructers here in the NYC, but that's not health concious to me. That can be just as unhealthy as being a bit on the portly side. Some one here mentioned that Starbucks should have stayed on the West Coast. I would go bonkers if we didn't have Starbucks. I'm waiting for the chain of In and Out Burgers to open in NYC too. ;D

The interior grinder is a PITA to clean, but it doesn't need to be done all the time -- I probably do it every 3-4 pounds of beans.

Specifically, an area of West L.A. called Brentwood (kinda sandwiched between Santa Monica/Pacific Palisades on the west and Bel Air/Westwood on the east). There are ZERO fat people in our area: no one is overweight and certainly NOBODY is obese. If you're in Santa Monica and you see a heavy person walking around...HE'S A TOURIST! Most likely one from the Midwest or South. In our 'hood, walkers/joggers/cyclists are ubiquitous, all day and all night. Yoga pants are de rigeur. There are yoga studios, pilates studios, and gyms all over the place. In fact, it's easier to find an elliptical machine in our 'hood than a parking spot!
