OK. I joined awhile ago last year, as jennysturn or something lame like that. Got busy, thought I had a handle on this debt, yada yada yada. Obviously not the case.
Discover $3480 Citi $9995 Visa $10137 Cap One $12200 Total: $35812
We transferred a CC balance to a 0$ card, then used that card for monthly expenses expecting to pay it off every month. Well that worked for like, the first month. Then used the cash advance on the new card to buy corn (we have cattle). The other 2 big cards are pretty much ranch expenses; cash advances to fix a well, buy hay, etc. When we sell calves every year, we make the land payment and cattle loan payment. We keep hoping there will be something leftover for the cards but hasn't happened yet. The cattle will be paid for in 2 years, though, and that will free up just under $30,000 annually. And we are applying for a low interest operating loan that we could use to pay off 1 card and not add major things to the other ones. So hopefully we can make some good changes soon.
I recently went back to work part-time and plan to use my checks for CC payments. Then take the $ from my DH's checks that used to go to the cards and stick it into ING accounts so the feed expenses, property taxes, and stuff won't hurt so bad.
I know what I *should* do, I just need to get in gear. I am so excited to join this group again- it was quite a shock to see the old boards go away, I am really glad I was able to find you!

Hey ladies I keep reading, but I can't sign in from work. I probably won't get to be around as much for awhile since work is really picking up. The last two weeks of the year were not so hot for us. But oh well. Overall last year we paid off over $6,000 (not including all the medical ($5000) and insurance ($2000)), so we are still moving in the right direction Most of the debt payments are set up on auto-pay, and we are just sticking with the mins until we pay for the delivery ($1000) and get $$$ saved up for maternity leave. I get 8 weeks paid, but I really want to take the full 12. I am diving back into the extreme couponing to get stocked up on things we will need over the next year. After the sales next week I should have a year's supply of laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, and 3 boxes of diapers for about $30 total I figure I have more time than money right now, so I can hunt down all the crazy deals. IVANA - I agree with paying off the SL. It frees up cash-flow, which is always a good thing. While you have the roommate, I would funnel the $$ towards your CC or split between CC and savings.

So 2011 has started out kind of shaky. Took the cars in for oil changes and our 10 year old durango has 4-5k worth of work that should be done on it. The car isn't really worth it - we just did the minimum work right now until we figure out what we want to do with it. My DH was very upset since he's been wanting a specific car since I met him but we've never been able to afford it. His perfect car was for sale when we bought my car (after I totalled mine) but we opted to get mine instead since it was 10k cheaper. He's getting kind of bitter towards me about cars since I've had a "new" one every 3 years due to my crappy driving/lluck (Flooding, Ice, Rear end = 3 totals) I just feel bad that he gets shafted over cars. So we are hoping the durango eeks out for a few more months at least until we can figure out what we want to do.

Ivana: My cruise is also through Royal Carribean out of Port Canaveral. It is a 7 day/6 night cruise though. Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Lebede, Haiti; Georgetown, Grand Caymen; and Cozumel, Mexico. So Excited!! Also, pay off the SL. IMHO, there is no such thing as good debt, just "less evil" debt. So, I was looking at the smilies, what is this all about?! LOL Jem: Welcome back!! Ners: Welcome!!!

Kewee: You might be my hero...... I was looking on other threads trying to get the whole table thing figured out. I am by no means a techie person. Did you type all of the code in your reply or do you have an excel sheet set up with the codes? If you have an excel sheet, can you e-mail it to me? Pretty please? chelmo50 at hotmail dot com

Turbo I used code in the reply. I typed it out in a word document and copied it over. I did that a few times to modify it until I found the right code and look I wanted. I'll email the code in the word document - I read somewhere that excel doesn't work so looks like I'll be deleting the last and inserting the current each month in the word document. A little more work until I can figure out if there is an easier way.
Tables Not sure if there is a way to get to the the "modify post" area before you post. It has alot of short cuts for adding tables, changing colors etc

Minnesota: If you do a reply as opposed to a quick reply, you will see all the formatting buttons. Or, you can put the code in the quick reply. You will see the code once you use the button on the reply screen.

KeeWee or Turbo: can you email me that table thingy you miraculously figured out? I've been messing with the table available here & cant seem to figure it out. I'm not computer savvy at all-Excel scares the heck out of me & have to resort to begging anyone to give me copies of their spreadsheets for budgeting help. If either of you are feeling generous, I will be totally grateful: laurak814 at yahoo.com Thank you!!!

Administrative update! Hey everyone! I'm sorry that I have been out of the loop so much during this transition. I was scheduled to be out of town where I knew I would have no internet, and then I came home to no internet either. A snow plow took out a pole and the temp connection was spotty for a day or two, but now appears to be back up and running. Emails - I have received tons of email addresses, and I am updating the regional sheets with them now that I have internet access again. ProBoards - I am guessing that we will be here for a little while (at least a few months, probably thorugh the summer). I am looking for a more permanent home for the Racers, one that will suit all of our needs, and also be a place where we can grow and expand! Please forward any ideas you might have for me to my email: cgwirr at gmail dot com. I know that we have PM here on the new boards, BUT it's easier for me if I keep everything in one place. Smiley Faces - since I have not been able to spend time on proboards yet, I asked all the lovely volunteers to begin studying how we can work on this site, I should be catching up with them soon. We'll figure it out! Updates - Please put your updates in these threads for the time being, and hopefully by next week we'll have "permanent" proboards WIRR threads that will be a bit more organized. Again, I'm sorry that this all happened as I was getting ready to go out of town, but we had a great response and will be able to work here for a while! Thanks for all the patience and understanding!~CG
